    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a UE capability to receive a first portion of a tracking reference signal (TRS) and a second portion of the TRS, the first portion and the second portion associated with a TRS pattern. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication of the TRS pattern, where the TRS pattern includes the first portion of the TRS pattern and the second portion of the TRS pattern. The UE may receive one or more TRSs according to the first portion of the TRS pattern and the second portion of the TRS pattern.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Sidelink UEs may be configured with a synchronization reference signal that may be used by the UEs to synchronize time and frequency resources. A first and second UE may perform a beam sweeping procedure to identify transmit and receive beams to use for communications between the UEs. A synchronization reference signal procedure may be initiated and the first UE may receive a sidelink synchronization reference signal from the second UE using the established receive beam. The UEs may align time and frequency resources for communications between the UEs and the UEs may communicate via the sidelink channel based on the time synchronization, frequency synchronization, or both, determined using the sidelink synchronization signal. In some cases, a sidelink UE may receive multiple synchronization reference signals from multiple sidelink UEs simultaneously, where each synchronization reference signal may include a UE identifier.

    Abstract: Techniques, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be in communication with a first and second transmitting device (e.g., by sidelink communication links). The UE may receive, from the first transmitting device, a first reference signal on a first set of resources. The UE may additionally receive, from the second transmitting device, a second reference signal on a second set of resources that overlap in the time domain with the first set of resources. In some cases, the first and second set of resources may additionally overlap in the frequency domain. The UE may determine synchronization information for time tracking or frequency tracking of sidelink communications with the first and second transmitting devices based on the first and second reference signals. The UE may communicate with the first and second transmitting devices based on the synchronization information for time tracking or frequency tracking.

The sidelink request may indicate a set or a segment of the data resources. A second UE may transmit a positive sidelink response indicating that the set or the segment of resources is available for reservation, or may refrain from transmitting a positive sidelink response if the set or the segment of the data resources is unavailable for reservation. A third UE may transmit a negative sidelink response indicating that the set or the segment of the data resources is unavailable for reservation, or may refrain from transmitting a negative sidelink response if the set or the segment of the data resources is available for reservation. If the requested data resources are available, then the first UE may transmit a sidelink confirmation reserving the requested data resources.

    Abstract: Discussed is wireless communication that includes beam failure detection and recovery for high priority or broadcast CORESETs performed in wireless communication systems to effectuate an overall improvement in wireless communication. In some aspects, a mobile device may monitor one or more first reference signals associated with wireless communication performed using one or more first reception beams. The mobile device may also monitor one or more second reference signals associated with wireless communication performed using one or more second reception beams. The mobile device may detect a failure in wireless communication performed using the one or more first reception beams based, at least in part, on the monitoring of the one or more first reference signals. The mobile device may also initiate a beam failure recovery procedure for the one or more first reception beams upon detecting the failure in wireless communication performed using the one or more first reception beams.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a user equipment (UE) of a group of UEs may communicate with other members of the group to provide data or other information via sidelinks. The UE may transmit a groupcast sidelink request to the base station. After receiving the sidelink request, the base station may send a sidelink grant (e.g., transmit or receive grant) in downlink control information (DCI) to the UEs in the sidelink groupcast communications group. The sidelink grant may include information for each hop such as which UEs are going to transmit or receive, the reception or transmission beams of the UEs, time and frequency resources, or the data to forward or relay. In some examples, a UE may relay information to other UEs in the sidelink groupcast communications group.

A first user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a sidelink scheduling request for groupcast sidelink communications with a set of one or more UEs. The base station may determine one or more UEs of the set of UEs and time-frequency resources for groupcast sidelink communication between the first UE and the one or more UEs. The first UE may receive, from the base station, a groupcast sidelink grant that indicates time-frequency resources for groupcast sidelink communications between the first UE and one or more UEs. The first UE may transmit, via the time-frequency resources indicated by the groupcast sidelink grant, a groupcast sidelink message to the one or more UEs. The one or more UEs may also receive the sidelink grant, and may monitor the time-frequency resources for a groupcast sidelink communication from the first UE.

A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling that configures a channel measurement resource and an interference measurement resource within a same time interval. The UE may transmit a measurement report that indicates a signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) measurement that is generated based on measuring the channel measurement resource and the interference measurement resource. In some cases, the UE may receive a quasi co-location (QCL) relationship indicator that indicates a QCL relationship for the interference measurement resource or the channel measurement resource. The UE may measure the channel measurement resource and the interference measurement resource in accordance with the QCL relationship.
