    摘要: An optical path cross-connect device includes a wavelength branching unit, an intra office signal input unit, “m” pieces of routing units, a wavelength combining unit and an intra-office signal output unit. The routing units input thereinto an optical signal outputted from either of the wavelength branching unit and the intra-office signal input unit via a first optical path group, and convert an input optical signal into a predetermined wavelength to thereby output a wavelength-converted optical signal to a second optical path group. The “m” (symbol being an integer and also being larger than 1)” pieces of routing units are subdivided into units of at least “n (symbol “n” being an integer and also being larger than 1)” wavelengths, as wavelength ranges to be processed by the respective routing unit are different from each other.

    摘要: An optical switch having a plurality of switch cells. The optical switch has n inputs (n is a natural number) and m outputs (m is a natural number). The optical switch has a unit size defined as the distance between any two adjacent ones of the switch cells. The optical switch comprises a substrate having a switch size of K×L (K is an integer satisfying n≦K, and L is an integer satisfying m≦L), first and second mirrors parallel to each other and perpendicular to a principal surface of the substrate, and an optical unit providing a plurality of input optical paths for the n inputs and a plurality of output optical paths for the m outputs. The plurality of input optical paths are inclined relative to the first and second mirrors, and the plurality of output optical paths are inclined relative to the first and second mirrors. Each switch cell comprises a switch mirror provided movably relative to the substrate. With this configuration, the path dependence of loss is substantially eliminated.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a technology of an IP node for transferring IP packets accommodated in a wavelength division multiplexing optical signal. The optical IP node of the present invention includes a space switch unit supplied with a wavelength division multiplexing optical signal and a packet with another node destination and generating an optical signal with the self node destination and multiplexing the optical signal with another node destination and an optical signal caused by the packet together and generating the multiplexed signal, link failure detecting unit connected to an input side and an output side of the space switch unit, detecting link failure and generating a detection signal, an OAM packet transmitting unit for generating a monitoring packet at a predetermined time interval, and a traffic restoration control unit connected to the link failure detecting unit, selecting each optical signal depending on the wavelength in response to reception of the detection signal, switching the optical path and generating the optical signal. Each of the optical IP nodes carries out optical path switching on the wavelength division multiplexing optical signal and assignment of an IP packet to be transmitted to an optical signal and switching of the assignment. Thus, the number of optical wavelengths utilized for transmission can be reduced and the size of the optical IP node can be made small.
