    摘要: An allocation control apparatus may access an address table storing addresses of slice areas allocated in a storage area for an entire storage system having a plurality of storage devices and addresses that do not correspond to allocated slice areas. The allocation control apparatus includes a reception unit receiving a request for allocating an arbitrary storage capacity an allocation unit allocating, by referring to the address table, an address that does not correspond to the allocated slice area for at least a part of the requested storage capacity and allocates an address for the slice area to the remaining storage capacity when the reception unit receives the allocation request, and a transmission unit transmitting the result allocated by the allocation unit to a requesting source of the allocation request.

The processor receives a first request to write first data into the first storage area. The processor requests an external apparatus to write the first data into a second storage area in a second storage unit included in the external apparatus. The processor determines whether a first response has been received from the external apparatus. The first response indicates that the first data has been written into the second storage area. The processor writes the first data into the first storage area when the first response has been received. The processor requests, without writing the first data into the first storage area, the external apparatus to write second data stored in the first storage area into the second storage area when the first response has not been received.

    摘要: A file server has a conversion table that stores therein, in a corresponding manner, logical addresses specified by a higher-level layer and physical addresses specified by a disk driver that are address information indicative of a storage area in a disk device. The file server accesses the disk device with a storage area indicated by a physical address as an access destination and counts up the number of access requests to each storage area in a given period of time for each of the logical addresses. The file server then updates the conversion table such that the physical addresses are lined up in a descending order of the logical addresses of a higher number of the access requests counted. Thereafter, the file server changes storage areas of data stored in the storage device based on the conversion table updated.

    摘要: A computer in a disk node executes a data management program. A deduplication-eligible data unit detection module detects a data unit whose deduplication grace period after last write time has expired. A deduplication address fetch module interacts with an index server to obtain a deduplication address associated with a unique value of data stored in a constituent storage space allocated to the data unit that is found to be deduplication-eligible. A constituent storage space deallocation module stores the obtained deduplication address in a data unit record memory, together with information indicating the detected data unit. Simultaneously a constituent storage space deallocation module releases the allocated constituent storage space from the detected data unit.
