摘要: A locking mechanism for security door assemblies, in particular but not exclusively, to a security door assembly which is fitted temporarily on a building. The locking mechanism for such a security door comprises a locking member movable between a locking state and non-locking state. A lock releasably engagable with the locking member prevents the locking member moving to the non-locking state. The lock mechanism further includes an operating device that is coupled to the locking member by a connecting structure which includes a force limiter. The force limiter limits the force the operating device can apply to the locking member without damage to any of the parts of the locking mechanism.

摘要: A catheter system has a balloon angioplasty device disposed about a common lumen near its distal end. The balloon catheter is pre-fitted with a stent which is deployed when the balloon is inflated. The common lumen is in communication with multiple lumens within a proximal region of the catheter body to allow for positioning of the catheter over a movable guide wire and convenient delivery of imaging or interventional devices to a desired region of a body passageway being treated. The procedure for stent deployment optionally includes steps of imaging a lumen by ultrasound before and after stent deployment to identify the site at which a stent is needed, to confirm that the stent is being and has been deployed at a longitudinal position which does not overlap a branched segment of the body passageway, and to ensure that the stent has been radially opened to an optimum diameter.

摘要: Apparatus for releasably locking the tilt steering column assembly of an automotive vehicle in adjusted position. A rack on the steering column assembly is engaged by a pawl to lock the steering column assembly in the position selected by the driver. A bracket is provided to hold the pawl engaged with the rack and prevent it from becoming disengaged. The tilt of the steering column can be re-adjusted by moving the bracket so that the pawl can disengage the rack. A latch is provided for latching the bracket in its position holding the pawl engaged with the rack.

摘要: A pipette tip storage and dispensing system has a series of pipette tip holder cards each of which has a plurality of openings for holding a set of pipette tips extending partway through the openings in an upright orientation. The openings in each card match those in the other cards, and cards loaded with pipette tips can be stacked vertically with the pipette tips in one card extending into the open upper ends of the tips in the next adjacent card of the stack, to minimize storage space. An alignment device is arranged to hold the pipette tips in a card in a vertical orientation as the card is removed from the top of the stack and transferred to a pipette tip holder tray so that the pipette tips can be lowered into aligned openings in the holder tray with the card resting on the top wall of the tray.

摘要: Matter is floated to the surface of a liquid by bonding ions to the surface of the matter to give the matter a charge, and forming a froth with the aid of a frothing agent having groups of opposite charge to the ions so that the frothing agent bonds to the matter and is carried in the froth to the surface of the liquid. By removing the froth the matter can be separated from any inert matter present in the liquid. The oxidation state of the surface of the matter may be changed before bonding takes place with the ions to one which facilitates that bonding. The matter can be particulate or dissolved ions. For example, uranium dioxide particles are oxidized with hydrogen peroxide, sodium carbonate added to produce a negatively charged uranyl carbonate complex and a froth formed with the aid of cetyl trimethylammonium bromide. Cationic groups in the latter bond to the uranyl carbonate complex causing the uranyl carbonate complex to be concentrated in the froth at the surface of the liquid. The froth is then skimmed off to remove the uranium dioxide particles.
