摘要: A cutting apparatus for resecting a distal face of a femur prior to implanting a femoral component of a total knee prosthesis, comprises an elongate rod adapted for inserting into an intramedullary canal of the femur, a distal femoral cutting block, and a distal femoral jig assembly. The jig assembly can position the distal femoral cutting block on either left leg or right leg. It includes a distal femoral jig having at least one passage for slidingly receiving the rod with a preset valgus angle and a distal end face being adapted for abutting against on the distal face of the femur of either left leg or right leg dependent on its two flip orientations.

摘要: A spiked head assembly for a tibial jig for use during an orthopedic surgical procedure, includes a body and a mount for mounting the spiked head assembly on the tibial jig. The spiked head assembly comprises an elongate member having a central longitudinal axis, a first end and a second end and superior and inferior surfaces. The elongate member also has least one securing spike provided on the inferior surface towards the second end of the elongate member and configured to engage with a bone mass and arms extending from the elongate member in a direction perpendicular to the inferior surface. The arms are spaced apart from a plane that includes the central longitudinal axis and extends substantially perpendicularly to the inferior surface, so that the arms and the inferior surface define an access space for the surgical procedure.

摘要: A cutting guide assembly comprises a mounting block having a guide surface into which may be mounted an articulated mounting arm. The mounting arm has a first post which is retained in the mounting block and a second post. A cutting tool attachment component is provided to attach the cutting tool to the cutting guide assembly. The cutting tool attachment component has a first surface against which the saw blade can be retained for oscillation around an axis of oscillation, and a shaft which cooperates with the second post such that the longitudinal axis of the shaft is collinear with the axis of oscillation of the saw blade. When the saw blade is retained against the first surface, the plane of oscillation is parallel to, and displaced from, the guide surface of the mounting block.

摘要: An orthopaedic joint prosthesis assembly includes a head part of an orthopaedic joint prosthesis component and an alignment guide. The head part has a spherical bearing surface for articulation with a corresponding joint surface, and an assembly surface having a first bore formed in it for receiving a spigot on another part of the orthopaedic joint prosthesis. The bore has a first axis that extends perpendicular to the assembly surface. There is a discontinuity at an interface between the bearing surface and the assembly surface, and the assembly surface is arranged on a plane which is parallel to, or contains, a plane which is defined by the opening to the bore in the head part when the head part is viewed from one side in cross-section. The alignment guide has an axial portion and an arm extending from the axial portion. The arm includes a distal portion which is configured to engage the assembly surface of the head part, with the axial portion defining a second axis and being arranged to engage the bearing surface of the head part when the head part is mounted within the guide such an impaction force applied along the second axis is directed along the first axis.
