摘要： A cushion for use inside footwear having an interior for receiving a foot of a wearer. The cushion includes a liner made of cushioning material. The liner is sized and shaped for reception on an interior surface of the footwear in a position for engaging the foot when the foot is inserted into the interior of the footwear for cushioning an interface between the foot and the interior surface of the footwear with which the liner is engaged. The liner includes a visual cushioning indicator for visually indicating the operability of the cushion to perform a cushioning function during an immediately prior use by the wearer and for subsequent use.

摘要： Footwear is provided for added comfort to the wearer by facilitating the removal and dissipation of perspiration from the foot of the wearer. The footwear has a knitted sock and a shoe in combination. The knitted sock has a toe portion formed of hydrophilic knit fabric and an instep portion adjacent the toe portion formed of hydrophobic knit fabric. Perspiration from the toe portion of the foot of the wearer is absorbed by the knit hydrophilic toe portion of the knitted sock and wicked therefrom by the hydrophobic knit instep portion of the knitted sock. The shoe has a tongue portion overlying and contacting the hydrophobic knit instep portion of the knitted sock. The tongue portion of the shoe has overlying inner and outer fabric layers formed of hydrophilic fabric and an intermediate fabric layer positioned between the overlying inner and outer hydrophilic fabric layers. The intermediate fabric layer has a medial portion formed of a hydrophobic fabric layer and opposite side portions formed of hydrophilic fabric layers. The inner hydrophilic fabric layer overlies and, is in contacting engagement with the hydrophobic knit instep portion of the knitted sock. The perspiration from the hydrophobic knit instep portion of the knitted sock is absorbed by the overlying and contacting inner hydrophilic fabric layer and the hydrophilic fabric opposite side portions of the intermediate fabric layer and wicked therefrom by the contacting hydrophobic fabric layer medial portion of the intermediate fabric layer. The perspiration is then transferred from the hydrophobic fabric layer medial portion to the overlying outer hydrophilic fabric layer of the tongue portion of the shoe for evaporation therefrom to atmosphere.

摘要： In an athletic, casual, or other form of footwear, constructed having a vamp, sole, quarter, and counter portions, all fabricated into the shoe structure, and incorporating a shoe tongue therewith, the quarter portion(s) for the footwear is fabricated of a pair of liners, the normal inner liner forming the standard quarter portion structure, with an overlying outer liner disposed thereon, arranging in an intermediate spacing therein, and which may function as a pocket for the deposition of personal items, such as keys, coins, or the like therein. Closure means, such as hook and pile fastening members may be provided proximate the rearward edges of the two fabricated liners, forming the shoe quarter portion, to assure a closure for the pocket when required, and the eyestay fabricated into the shoe quarter portion structure may extend angularly downwardly, in order to add reinforcement for the pocket structure particularly at that location where it is repeatedly pulled open, as when items may be arranged within the pocket structure, or removed therefrom. The shoe gusset or tongue may likewise be fabricated of a pair of liners, forming a pocket therein, so as to add a supplementary pocket to the footwear structure for securement of various items therein, as during shoe usage.

摘要： A tongueless shoe includes a deep U-shaped opening forward of a foot-receiving opening for permitting the insertion therein of a heavily bandaged or protected foot. A removable tongue is attachable to bridge the U-shaped opening. A cushioning insert portion may be employed similar to the sock for protecting the foot when the sock-enclosed foot is worn inside the shoe portion. When the cushioning insert portion is employed, the tongue is removed. The insert portion is secured in place in the shoe portion by fastening means on a collar surrounding the foot-receiving openings of the insert portion and the shoe portion. Closure means such as straps or laces close the U-shaped opening over the foot.
