摘要： A tampon applicator assembly of compact type is provided comprising an outer tube, an inner tube slidably nested therein and a tampon stored inside of the inner tube. A small portion of the tampon protruding from a proximal end of the inner tube. The inner tube has to be partially withdrawn from the outer tube in the distal direction until the proximal end of the inner tube will be placed behind the distal end of the tampon. To prevent distal movement of the tampon relative to the outer tube during the partial withdrawal the outer tube comprises a holding means. The holding means comprises at least one set of circumferentially located stiff cogs fixed to the inner surface of the outer tube. Each cog has at least one biting edge pressed against the side surface of the protruding portion of the tampon when the applicator is completely assembled.

摘要： The present invention relate to a sanitary tampon comprising a compact applicator and a tampon (3) of compressed absorbent material stored within the applicator, the applicator having an inner tube (1) and an outer tube (2) slidably disposed over the inner tube (1). The outer tube (2) has a distal discharge end (4) for insertion into the body of the user. The tampon (3) is solid and substantially cylindrical in shape and is constructed such that at least a part of the body (11) of the tampon (3) adjacent the proximal end (13) sits at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the applicator so that when the inner tube (1) is withdrawn past the proximal end (13) of the tampon (3) to prime the applicator for use, the proximal end (13) of the tampon will urge itself against the inner surface of the outer tube (2) and when the inner tube (1) is pushed back into the outer tube (2) to expel the tampon, the tampon is hindered from re-entering the distal end (6) of the inner tube (1).

摘要： An improved tampon applicator for insertion of a tampon into a body cavity is provided, including a paper tampon holder tube having an expulsion end dimensioned for insertion into the body cavity and including a plurality of contiguous segments separated by slits, and a plunger, telescopically and slidably mounted in the holder distal to the expulsion end and adapted to expel the tampon from the holder when pushed manually into the holder. As the tampon is expelled, the segments bend open at a hinge region. The segments of the improved applicator bend outwardly during expulsion with significantly reduced applied force, improving user comfort. In one aspect, the tampon holder includes a plurality of small cuts extending circumferentially from the slits through the paper in the vicinity of the hinge region. The cuts reduce the width of the petal segments, and thereby reduce the bending moment and rigidity at the hinge region. In another aspect, the tampon holder includes a zone of indentation, preferably a plurality of score lines, disposed on the inside of the tampon holder tube in the vicinity of the hinge region.

摘要： An applicator for delivering an object, such as a menstrual tampon, to a cavity, such as the vaginal canal, which applicator is not much longer than the object when delivered to the user, is provided. The applicator is a unitary injection blow-molded device which includes a first tubular section housing the object, a second collapsible and extensible corrugated tubular section abutting the first section, and a third tubular section abutting the second section and serving primarily as a handle. An integral pusher member is formed in the interior of the applicator attached to the inner wall of the third section, and is biased to assume a position along the centerline of the applicator. The applicator is delivered to the user in a collapsed state, with the pusher alongside the object in the first section. The user extends the object by pulling on the first and third sections, withdrawing the pusher from the first section so that it aligns itself behind the center of the object. The applicator is inserted in the cavity and the object is ejected by pushing the third section toward the firsts section, collapsing the second section and driving the pusher member forward.

摘要： A shortened tampon applicator of the telescoping tube type employs an ejector tube to store a tampon in its distal end and an outer tube disposed by a slip fit thereover to thus shorten the overall length of the tampon and applicator assembly. Directionally-locking inward flaps fixed within the distal end of said outer tube engage the distal end of the tampon stored in the ejector tube thus securing the latter relative to said outer tube while permitting only distal expulsion therefrom. The ejector tube preferably has inwardly biased flexible portions at its distal end which serve to catch behind the proximal end of the tampon. In the preferred version, the inwardly biased portions are unique undulations at the blunt distal end of the ejector tube.
