    摘要: The water purification apparatus of this invention is used in combination with a domestic hot water heating tank and comprises a water container mounted on top of the tank. Hot tank water is supplied to the container through a passage controlled by a float-actuated needle valve. Water in the container receives additional heat from a heat-radiating pipe which extends from the tank through the container and back to the tank to maintain a continuous circulation. Water vapor formed in the container is carried away through a duct and condenses. A receptacle is provided for receiving condensate from the discharge outlet of the duct.

The solvent is fed in a first distilling vessel in which it is evaporated until the liquid solvents therein reaches a predetermined level, whereafter the remaining liquid solvent is discharged from the first into a second distilling vessel wherein the solvent is subjected to a subsequent distilling operation so that a cake, from foreign matter dissolved in this solvent, will form only in the second distilling vessel from which it can be discharged without interrupting the distilling process in the first distilling vessel.

    摘要: The plant is intended to provide a low-cost installation requiring little attention in operation and with negligible maintenance demands. The plant comprises a bottom chamber in which pre-heated salt water is heated to evaporation, a hood, in an upper chamber, arranged to collect steam as evaporation takes place and to pass the steam through condenser plates. Condensate from the plates is collected and discharged as drinking water. In a preferred application, the plant embodies a bottom chamber where evaporation takes place, a middle chamber containing the steam collecting hood and a top chamber for the condenser plates. Counter-flow heat exchange between incoming salt water and steam/condensate after evaporation is used to maximum advantage to reduce heat input requirements.

In distillation apparatus comprising an evaporator 1, condenser 2, distillate-conduit 13, and a pump 15 for discharging the required distillate from the apparatus, the quality of the distillate is measured by sensing- means 19 which sends a signal to stop the pump when the quality of the distillate is below the required value, the unsatisfactory distillate then flows to the evaporator through conduit 6, but when the quality of the distillate is at or above the required value, the pump is restarted and the distillate is discharged from the apparatus through non-return valve 17. The pump 15 is driven by motor 18, and controlled by an on-off switch communicating with sensing-means 19. During normal operation when the distillate is of the desired quality and pump 15 is in operation, conduit 6 acts as a gas-seal between conduit 13 and the evaporator. The apparatus is suitable for the production of distilled water from salt water which is fed to the evaporator through conduit 5, excess brine being withdrawn by jet-pump 10.
