    摘要: A vehicle includes a wing and a control surface pivotably coupled to the wing and configured to pivot about a range of motion. A propulsor is coupled to the control surface and configured to rotate between a first position associated with a hover flight mode and a second position associated with a forward flight mode. The propulsor is aerodynamically actuated between the first position and the second position due to aerodynamics about the wing. The propulsor may rotate from an initial flight mode, such as a takeoff mode, to a second flight mode, such as a forward flight mode.

    摘要: A flap arrangement for a wing of an aircraft includes a base member, at least one first flap, at least one second flap and at least one connecting assembly. The first flap is movably supported on the base member and the second flap is movably supported on the first flap. The connecting assembly is mechanically coupled with the base member and the second flap and is designed to move the second flap relative to the first flap when the first flap is moved relative to the base member. Due to the resulting forced guiding of a second flap relative to a first flap a separate actuator for moving the second flap and linkages extending outside of the shape defining contour of the flap arrangement may substantially be eliminated.

The present invention improves overall flight control operation by reducing the mechanical flight control surface components while providing sufficient back-up control capability in the event of either a mechanical or power-related failure. Through the present invention, natural feedback is provided to the operator from the mechanical flight control surface which operates independent of computer-aided flight control surfaces. Further, through the present invention, force input signals received from the pilot are filtered to improve the operation of the computer-aided flight control surfaces.

The body is moved between a refracted position and an extended position while performing a movement in a longitudinal direction in combination with a rotary movement. The mechanism includes first and second transmission levers for coupling to the supporting structure, a base connection lever to which these levers are coupled, third and fourth transmission levers coupled to the base connection lever, an adjusting lever coupled to the third and fourth transmission levers for attachment of the adjustable body, to adjust the body by a movement of the adjusting lever, and a coupling lever coupled to the first or second transmission lever and to the third or fourth transmission lever. During a movement of the adjusting lever, the first and second transmission levers each move opposite to the third and fourth transmission levers.

    摘要: A trim tab is disclosed for use on an aerodynamic foil that has first and second surfaces which extend between a leading edge and a trailing edge. Structurally, the trim tab includes a tab member that is bounded by slits formed through each surface to extend from the trailing edge toward the leading edge. Also, the tab member is bounded by a slot formed between the slits on the second surface to establish a flange between the slot and the trailing edge. Further, the trim tab includes an actuator that is mounted on the foil between the slot and the leading edge. The actuator includes an actuator arm that is connected to the flange. As a result, extension and retraction of the actuator moves the tab member about a hinge-less tab that is created on the first surface.
