Abstract: An air conditioning system includes a first mix manifold and a second mix manifold. A first air conditioning pack is coupled in flow communication with the first mix manifold, wherein the first air conditioning pack is configured to channel a supply of fresh air to the first mix manifold. A second air conditioning pack is coupled in flow communication with the second mix manifold, wherein the second air conditioning pack is configured to channel the supply of fresh air to the second mix manifold. The first air conditioning pack is also coupled in flow communication with the second air conditioning pack.

Abstract: An aircraft air conditioning system, powered solely using electrical energy, to draw bleed air from outside the aircraft and deliver conditioned air to the aircraft's interior, includes at most three motorized rotary machines, which include: independent first and second motorized turbocompressors, each turbocompressor includes a turbine compressor and an electric motor; and a motor compressor interconnected between the turbocompressors via an interconnection pipe. The motor compressor: generates a primary air flow, which drives a secondary air flow, allowing a breathing air flow to be cooled in a first operation phase, corresponding to a ground operation or at relatively low altitude and relatively low aircraft speed; be at shutdown or at low idle in a second phase of operation at relatively low altitude and relatively high aircraft speed; and, provide a top up breathing air flow in a third phase of operation at relatively high altitude and relatively high aircraft speed.

Abstract: An aircraft air conditioning system comprising an ambient air supply line with a first end connected to an ambient air inlet and a second end connected to a mixing chamber. A first electrically driven ambient air compressor in the ambient air supply line compresses the ambient air flowing therethrough. A first ambient air branch line branches off from the ambient air supply line upstream of the first ambient air compressor and rejoins the supply line downstream of the air compressor. A second ambient air compressor in the first ambient air branch line compresses the ambient air flowing therethrough. A cabin exhaust air line has a first end connected to an air conditioned aircraft area. A cabin exhaust air turbine in the exhaust air line is driven by the exhaust air flowing through the cabin exhaust air line and is coupled to drive the second ambient air compressor.

Abstract: A flow-straightener apparatus and associated systems for converting a rotating airflow into a substantially longitudinally directed airflow is presented. A first annular frame is provided and a second annular frame arranged concentrically within the first annular frame. A plurality of flow-straightener vanes are also provided, each having a first end coupled to an interior surface of the first annular frame and a second end coupled to an exterior surface of the second annular frame. The plurality of flow-straightener vanes each also have a leading edge and a trailing edge and each vane has a curved segment.
