The adjustable width stairwell child safety gate includes multiple strap-like fastener means for attaching frameless barrier device to stairway banisters or posts; including stairway posts having vertically varying diameters and configurations, or that are non-parallel relative to each other, or that are non-perpendicular relative to flooring surface or that are otherwise asymmetrical. The adjustable width stairwell child safety gate is extendable to securely fit, from banister to banister, across stairways of varying size, style and width.

摘要： A retention bar holds a shutter in place against a window within a window opening of a building, the retention bar having a first tubular member and a second tubular member that slides within the first member. The retention bar is positioned against a pair of opposing surfaces of the window opening, windward of the shutter, and the two tubular members are locked to one another. A spring loads the two tubular members against the window surfaces. A foot is threadably attached to an end of the first tubular member and provides fine length adjustment of the retention bar. A pair of plates is located on an end of the second tubular member, which plates lay against the window opening surface and the shutter respectively.

摘要： A door grating extension/contraction structure includes a frame and an extension/contraction mechanism. The frame is comprised of a plurality of bars. The extension/contraction mechanism is mounted to two parallel bars of the frame and is comprised of a telescopic tube set and a release assembly, wherein the telescopic tube set comprises a movable rod and the release assembly is coupled to the telescopic tube set and comprises a release button, a pawl member, and a transmission unit. The release button is coupled with the transmission unit and the transmission unit is coupled with the pawl member to form a resilient interconnection. The pawl member corresponds to and selectively forms an adjustable engagement with the movable rod of the telescopic tube set. The release button is operative to control engagement and disengagement between the pawl member and the movable rod, whereby the extension/contraction mechanism that is coupled to the frame can realize one-way or two-way extension/contraction to provide the door grating extension/contraction structure.

摘要： A composite flexible fabric is employed as a covering for an opening of a building, such as a window or door. The composite fabric protects the opening from hurricane force winds and associated flying objects. The composite fabric is formed from at least one layer of a fabric comprised of high tenacity fibers and at least one ultraviolet radiation resistant layer which is attached to the high tenacity fiber fabric. The UV resistant layer limits transmission of both UVA and UVB rays preferably to less than about 10% of the radiation incident upon such layer. Preferably, the UV resistant layer is a woven fabric, and the layer of high tenacity fibers is a woven fabric of extended chain polyethylene fibers. An adhesive layer may be used to enhance bonding between the fabric layer and the UV resistant layer.

摘要： A storm panel system for protecting the interior of a building having a fabric panel of a size and shape as to extend across a selected door or window is provided. A closure system accessible from the outside removably attaches the fabric panel to the outer surface of a building surrounding a window or door opening. The fabric panel has at least one access opening which is selectively closeable at the user's election. The selectively closeable access opening allows access through the opening to the outside to attach and release the panel from the structure by a person from inside the structure. Thus a user can access the exterior of building to install, adjust or remove the fabric panel, before during or after a storm.

摘要： Attachments to a building aperture frame alongside door or window openings. The attachments are comprised of two vertical channels, one horizontal channel, one vertical motion limiter bracket and multiple connector tubes (the number of which is dependent on the height of the opening which is being protected. The two vertical channels are of sufficient length to be at least two inches taller than the opening which is being protected. One vertical channel is mounted on each side of the channel to be protected. The horizontal channel is of such length that it will span the horizontal distance between the two mounted vertical channels. The vertical motion limiter bracket is mounted on the structure centered above the opening that is being protected. The connector tubes are used to connect horizontal wood slats, the other ends of which will rest in the vertical channels. The slats will be stacked one upon another. The bottom slat will rest in the horizontal channel. The top horizontal slat will be limited by the vertical motion limit bracket. The connector tubes will each connect to the tube below it for additional stability. No connector tubes need be used for narrow window openings. The assembled pieces together form a storm shutter system. Major elements of the system can be disassembled and easily stored until needed. Alternative installation utilizes H-channel in place of the connector tubes.

摘要： A window or door with a radially extending metal or vinyl casing flange mounted in an opening of a building having vinyl siding is protected from hurricanes and other violent weather by providing a panel having dimensions greater than the opening and bracket receiving slots; and a plurality of L-shaped brackets having base plates and perpendicular mounting plates. The bracket base plates are inserted between the window flange and the vinyl siding and secured to the building with fasteners, which are inserted into a wooden frame surrounding the building opening. The panel is then positioned over the opening, with the mounting plates inserted through the slots. The panel is secured in place by temporary fasteners, such as cotter keys.
