摘要： A method of cleaning and coating a used organic photoconductive drum is disclosed. Using this method remanufacturers can reliably reuse certain used organic photoconductive drums which could not be reused without this method. The method comprises providing a used organic photoconductive drum, cleaning the surface of the used organic photoconductive drum, applying a new surface layer comprising a non-volatile non-polar dielectric fluid such as a silicone oil with a viscosity of less than 200 cSt at 40 degrees Celsius. The resulting liquid surface on the used organic photoconductive drum provides wear resistance, and improved electrical characteristics allowing the used organic photoconductive drum to be used at least a second time.

摘要： A disclosed image forming apparatus includes an image carrier; a toner image forming unit configured to form a toner image having a predetermined polarity on the image carrier; an intermediate transfer body facing the image carrier; a primary transfer member configured to transfer the toner image on the image carrier onto the intermediate transfer body; a secondary transfer member configured to transfer the toner image on the intermediate transfer body onto a recording medium; and a contacting member that is in contact with the image carrier and configured to remove residual toner remaining on the image carrier after the toner image is transferred by the primary transfer member onto the intermediate transfer body and to pass the removed residual toner to the intermediate transfer body, to which contacting member a bias voltage with the same polarity as the predetermined polarity of the toner image is applied.

摘要： A charge apparatus charges by uniformly superimposing an alternate current bias voltage with a fixed frequency over a direct current bias voltage as the charge bias voltage on a photosensitive member. An exposure apparatus exposes the surface of the charged photosensitive member based on image data, and writes a latent image, and a developing apparatus supplies toner to and makes visible the latent image formed on the surface of the photosensitive member. A transfer apparatus transfers the visible image on the photosensitive member to a transfer medium, and a cleaning apparatus cleans the surface of the photosensitive member after transfer.

摘要： An image forming apparatus and a method for cleaning a photoreceptor are realized that allow cleaning a surface of the photoreceptor to eliminate foreign substances adhering thereto, without using a special abrasive sheet. A recording sheet is fed and brought into contact with photoreceptors of all photoreceptor drums. The recording sheet is stopped by causing the vicinity of a rear end of the recording sheet to be sandwiched between a pair of registration rollers. Then, the photoreceptor drums are rotated. By this way, the cleaning is carried out to the photoreceptor.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member configured to bear a toner image on a surface thereof. A charging mechanism is configured to uniformly charge the surface of the image bearing member. An intermediate transfer mechanism is configured to transfer the toner image from the image bearing member onto an image receiver. A cleaning mechanism is configured to clean the surface of the image bearing member after the toner image is transferred onto the image receiver. A lubricant supplying mechanism is configured to supply a lubricant contained therein onto the surface of the image bearing member and form a thin layer using a lubricating blade. The lubricant supplying mechanism is disposed between the cleaning mechanism and the charging mechanism.
