摘要: Processes for producing a sheet of holographic material wherein the holographic image is formed on a polished, substantially smooth surface of a printing element and then transferred the holographic image to a substrate. A coating is applied to the smooth surface of the printing element to provide a coated surface, the coated surface is embossed or engraved to provide the holographic image, and the holographic image is then transferred to a substrate via a bonding material, thereby producing the sheet of holographic material. The sheet of holographic material may be used to provide a decorative cover for an object or item, such as a floral grouping or a potted plant.

摘要: A method for impressing holographic images or holograms in the surface of metal objects such as aluminum cans, sheet metal or metal foil. The surfaces of metal shims and print rolls bearing holograms are hardened as by coating them with thin amorphous diamond coatings or diamond like coatings so the holograms can be embossed into many thousands of metal objects with clarity and consistency.

摘要: It has been found that holographic images can be formed on the surfaces of plastic products or the plastic packaging for products. The elastic preferably is a thermoplastic that can flow into the narrow spacings that form the holographic image. The holographic image is formed while the product or packaging is being formed. These can be formed by injection molding, blowmolding, injection stretch blowmolding and thermoforming. A shim bearing the image of the hologram is placed in the mold and the plastic injected or otherwise flowed or placed in the mold. Upon the plastic under pressure being in contact with the shin in the mold, the shin will impart a holographic image into the plastic. The product or package is cooled and then is in a form for use.

摘要: A method of advertising on a motor vehicle having a substantially transparent window including steps of providing a holographic film with a holographic image, and adhering the holographic film to the window, where the holographic image is substantially transparent to an operator of the motor vehicle from within the motor vehicle so that operation of the motor vehicle is not impeded, but the holographic image is visible to an observer outside the motor vehicle. The present method may also include the steps of applying a transparent adhesive to the holographic film and/or the window. The holographic image may be a product name, a corporate name and/or a corporate logo. The motor vehicle may be a motorsport vehicle adapted to be raced in a race track with at least one other vehicle. The holographic image may be a numeral that distinguishes the motorsport vehicle but is preferably a sponsor advertisement that includes a product name, a corporate name and/or a corporate logo. The present method may include the step of illuminating the holographic image by providing a light source at a predetermined position to enhance visibility of the holographic image to the observer outside the motorsport vehicle, including the media.

摘要: Packaging for sports equipment has an enclosure and a hologram formed on at least a portion thereof for diffusely reflecting incident light. A marking layer is formed on the hologram and of an organic ink, an inorganic ink, or an ink containing a dye or pigment having the color attributes of lightness, saturation and hue, at least one of which varies due to interference with diffusely reflected light from the hologram. Alternatively, the marking layer is formed on the first hologram by laminating one or more second hologram layers thereon. This construction gives the packaging a highly decorative and elegant appearance.

摘要: Finely divided embossed metal particles are prepared by forming an embossment on a carrier surface in which the embossment comprises a machine readable image produced by a diffraction grating pattern, a holographic image pattern or an image visible solely by optical magnification. A layer of metal is applied to the surface so the layer adopts the complement or the embossment. The layer is then separated from the surface and reduced to embossed particles. Alternatively, the embossment can be formed on the carrier sheet directly or on the outer surface of a release coating formed on the carrier sheet. When removing the film of metal from the release-coated carrier, the carrier sheet with the release coating and film of metal can be passed through a release environment which causes the release coating to separate the film and carrier, but which is nondestructive of the metal. The metal particles can be collected in a solvent which is nonreactive with the metal, and the metal particles can be broken further into pigment particles. The diffraction grating can have from about 5,000 to about 11,000 grooves per cm.
