    摘要: A method of forming spacers on a display substrate is described. First, a mould having a plurality of trenches is provided. Spacer are dropped onto the mould. When the mould is vibrated, the spacers fall into the trenches. Then, a display substrate having viscous substance on a surface thereof is pressed onto the spacers in the trenches of the mould, so that the spacers are bonded to the display substrate due to the viscous substance. Finally, the spacers bonded with the display substrate are removed from the trenches of the mould.

    摘要: A method for forming complexly shaped composite laminate assemblies. A pair of dry fiber preforms are placed on a tool with a thin film adhesive layer therebetween. A vacuum bag encloses the preforms and the adhesive layer. The preforms are heated to a temperature sufficient to cause the adhesive to become viscous and to wet several plys of each of the preforms. The preforms are then allowed to cool slightly before resin is infused via a vacuum source through each of the preforms to thoroughly wet each of the preforms. The resulting joint formed at the bond line of the two preforms is stronger than what would be formed simply by adhering two otherwise completely formed preforms together because the dry fiber preforms, in connection with the heating of the preforms, allow wetting of several plys of each of the preforms at the joint area, rather than just the surface ply of each preform.

    摘要: An absorbent paper sheet is treated with an aqueous wax dispersion such that the sheet includes a fused wax and emulsifier residue in an amount of from about 1 to about 20 weight percent of the sheet based on the combined weight of the fiber, wax residue and an emulsifier residue in the sheet. The fused wax emulsion operates to make at least one surface of the sheet laterally hydrophobic, exhibiting a moisture penetration delay of at least about 2 seconds and less than about 40 seconds as well as a typical contact angle with water at one minute of at least about 50 degrees. There is thus provided absorbent products which exhibit both absorbency and resistance to moisture penetration. The treated sheet further exhibits microbial barrier properties, impeding transfer of bacteria, for example, through the sheet. There are produced tissue products which resist moisture penetration from propelled liquids as well as sequester sorbed liquids in the interior of the tissue.

    摘要: An identification label for a roll of paper and a method of making the label. The back of the label has adhesive only in selected portions corresponding to the central roll of the paper. The label adheres to the end of the roll but not the paper wound thereon. The central area of the label is cut in a star pattern to form triangular sections which adhere to the inside surface of the core. A method is also provided for labeling a product rolled about a core by adhering such a label.
