Abstract: Systems and methods for redundant braking and/or of remotely piloted vehicles are described. A redundant braking system includes a first onboard computing unit configured to receive sync data regularly from a main computing unit, receive heartbeat signal through a communication network from a remote pilot control unit, determine network failure if the heartbeat signal is not received for more than a threshold period of time, and generate a braking command. The system includes arrangements to activate brakes of the vehicle based on the braking command received from the local computing unit. The system may also generate a steering command to change the lane of the vehicle and park at a safe spot.

The method includes determining a first cycle based on data of a pipeline to be maintained, a feature of a maintainer, and/or a feature of a maintenance robot, obtaining, through a maintainer terminal and/or the maintenance robot, first feedback data based on the first cycle, determining, based on the first feedback data and the data of the pipeline to be maintained, a maintenance parameter and sending the maintenance parameter to the maintainer terminal, and generating, based on the maintenance parameter, a control instruction and sending the control instruction to the maintenance robot.

Abstract: The disclosure provides for a method for determining a pullover spot for a vehicle. The method includes using a computing device to detect information related to a system of the vehicle or an environment surrounding the vehicle using a sensor of a vehicle and determine a local failure of the vehicle based on the information. The computing device may then be used to determine that the vehicle should pullover before completing a current trip related to transporting a passenger or good by comparing vehicle requirements for the trip with the local failure and determine a pullover spot by identifying a first area for the vehicle to park in part based on a second area being available for a second vehicle to pick up the passenger or good. The computing device may operate the vehicle to the pullover spot and transmit a request for a second vehicle.

Abstract: To operate an autonomous vehicle, a rail agent is detected in a vicinity of the autonomous vehicle using a detection system. One or more tracks are determined on which the detected rail agent is possibly traveling, and possible paths for the rail agent are predicted based on the determined one or more tracks. One or more motion paths are determined for one or more probable paths from the possible paths, and a likelihood for each of the one or more probable paths is determined based on each motion plan. A path for the autonomous vehicle is then determined based on a most probable path associated with a highest likelihood for the rail agent, and the autonomous vehicle is operated using the determined path.
