摘要: FIG. 7 shows an air cannon system loaded with a launch canister containing a prop-fouler. A pressure vessel (28) contains an inlet including a poppet valve (100) that, upon command, can be selectively placed in either a one-way flow position to permit charging of the pressure vessel or otherwise opened to trigger rapid discharge through pressure equalization with the ambient environment. The air cannon may include multiple splayed barrels or a single barrel (158). A launch canister (202), realized in the form of a tube, has a driving plate (350) that closes an end of the launch tube. The driving plate is the first point loaded into the barrel. Within the launch canister (202) a first portion of a floating prop-fouling line is stored. The prop-fouling line, such as made from Dyneema®, has at its ends two drogues that, upon entry into the water, fill with water to produce drag resistance to movement of the prop-fouling line. To avoid undue stress on canopy panels of each drogue and to avoid twisting of shroud lines (312) to the canopy, a rotating shackle (310a, 310b) acts as a coupling point between the shroud lines (312) and the prop-fouling line. Only one drogue (306), its associated coupling and a selected length prop-fouling line are loaded into the launch canister, with the other drogue and its rotating shackle (310b) loaded into a cradle (166). Upon firing, gas expansion causes the rapid acceleration and ejection of the launch tube (202) and generally straight line deployment of the prop-fouling line (302).

摘要: A method for generation of hydrogen and oxygen contained in a salt solution provides for the disposing a number of wind turbines on navigable collection vessels in waters distant from shore. The wind turbines have a large number of blades, typically 30, to provide high torque for generating electricity used for extracting said gasses from the atmosphere by means of electrolysis. The collection vessels are disposed in predetermined zones, which are changed when weather conditions provide better collection conditions elsewhere. The gasses are stored in cylinders located both on the collection vessels, and on storage vessels attached to the collection vessels. After collection the cylinders are transported to shore facilities for further purification and/or distribution.

摘要: A sea anchor assembly for a kayak having two ends and one or more occupant seats, the assembly comprising: an anchor assembly comprising joined end-to-end in succession, an anchoring rope, a collapsible sea anchor, a deployment rope and a float, a ring secured near one end of the kayak, a cleat to releasably secure the anchor rope and the deployment rope proximate the seat, a tubular cover to removably retain the sea anchor therein in a collapsed condition, the cover secured to the kayak between the ring and the rope securing cleat, the anchor assembly extending from an end of the anchoring rope at the rope anchoring through the tubular cover and then through the ring to the float, wherein, with the collapsed sea anchor in the cover, on pulling the deployment rope, the deployment rope on passing through the ring draws the sea anchor out from the cover then through the ring for deployment in water, and wherein, with the sea anchor deployed, pulling the anchoring rope draws the sea anchor through the ring and into the cover with the sea anchor being collapsed on being draw through the ring.

摘要: An acknowledge back (ack-back) pager is provided for use in a paging system including a central station which transmits a group of message signals to a group of ack-back pagers which are addressed as a group. The users of the group of addressed ack-back pagers indicate a response to their respective pagers thus providing ack-back data. The pagers in the group of addressed ack-back pagers then simultaneously transmit back to the central station their ack-back data on different frequency sub-bands, a different frequency sub-band being allocated to each of the pagers in the group. To accurately control the ack-back transmit frequency, the pager receives and down-converts the F.sub.RX signal thus producing a down-converted F.sub.C signal, the frequency of which is measured and stored. The pager selects which sub-band of a plurality of frequency sub-bands within a predetermined range of frequencies is to be used for transmission of the ack-back signal. The pager determines a frequency offset F.sub.D corresponding to the selected sub-band, such offset being with respect to a predetermined frequency within such range of frequencies. The pager generates an acknowledge back signal at a frequency (F.sub.C +F.sub.D)-F.sub.CTX and up-converts such signal to a transmit frequency F.sub.TX corresponding to said selected sub-band, F.sub.CTX being the frequency of a down-converted sample of the F.sub.TX signal.

摘要: A tandem array of sea anchors is provided. Each sea anchor is generally umbrella shaped and has a relatively small opening at the apex. A single tow rope from a boat is secured to a plurality of strands from the periphery of each sea anchor and extends through these small apex openings of each sea anchor save the last. A single control cable also extends through the apex opening of each sea anchor save the last and is secured to each sea anchor adjacent the apex opening for simultaneously partially inverting said sea anchors to vary the drag of said tandem array of sea anchors. The number of anchors can be varied in accordance with the size, etc. of a boat.
