摘要: A method of and system for operating a hybrid electric propulsion system for an aircraft in a start sequence is provided. The hybrid electric propulsion system includes a thermal engine, an electric motor, a gearbox, an electric power storage unit, and a propulsion unit having a propeller having propeller blades. The method includes: driving the propeller from a static state to a target rotational speed within a predetermined range of speeds using the electric motor; transitioning the propeller blades from a feathered mode to an unfeathered mode while the propeller is being driven at the target rotational speed solely by the electric motor; starting the thermal engine; and transitioning the driving of the propeller using the electric motor to driving the propeller using the thermal engine.

摘要: A system for controlling a propeller having a plurality of blades having a primary control system and a backup control system. The primary control system including a sensor responsive to a propeller state, and a controller connected to the sensor and to an electrohydraulic control actuator. The electrohydraulic control actuator is connected via a bypass valve to a hydraulic actuator that controls at least a blade angle of a blade of the propeller. The controller generating commands to the electrohydraulic control actuator based on at least the propeller state. The backup control system including a second controller, an electrohydraulic solenoid operably connected to the bypass valve. The backup control system is operable to hydraulically disable the primary control system via the bypass valve upon the occurrence of a selected condition, the second controller modulates the operation of the electrohydraulic solenoid to control the bypass actuator based on the propeller state.

摘要: A rotor assembly includes a hub assembly and a shaft assembly. The hub assembly includes a hub and a first coupling, and the shaft assembly may be coupled to the hub assembly with a second coupling. The second coupling may be configured to facilitate rotation of the hub relative to a shaft of the shaft assembly. A rotor blade may be coupled to the hub assembly with a third coupling and be configured to rotate with the shaft. The first coupling may be configured to couple the hub to an actuator and transmit movements of the actuator to the hub to facilitate cyclic pitch control of the rotor blade. The rotor shaft may include arms and the hub may include a body coupled to the rotor blade by the third coupling and pairs of extensions that extend from a surface of the body to receive the arms.

摘要: There is provided a method and a system for detecting and mitigating a propeller failure condition. An actual value of a rotational speed of the propeller and/or of a pitch angle of blades of the propeller is obtained. In response to determining that the speed is below a reference rotational speed for the propeller and/or determining that the pitch angle is above a pitch angle threshold, an actuator operatively connected to the blades is commanded to decrease the pitch angle to increase the speed towards the reference speed. After commanding of the actuator to decrease the pitch angle, a subsequent value of the speed and/or a subsequent value of the pitch angle is obtained. The actuator is commanded to hold the pitch angle in response to determining that the speed has failed to increase towards the reference speed and/or determining that the pitch angle has failed to decrease.

摘要: There is described herein methods and systems for testing a propeller feathering function. The method comprises monitoring a rotational speed over time of propeller blades of an aircraft, commanding an angle change of the propeller blades, comparing a post-angle change rotational speed of the propeller blades to an expected rotational speed without the commanded angle change and obtaining, by the processor, a rotational speed difference, and issuing a test passed signal when the rotational speed difference exceeds a threshold and a test failed signal when the rotational speed difference does not exceed the threshold.
