The security shade also includes an end cap arranged over an end of a cassette. The security shade has the compressible end cap over each end of the roll tube and cassette.

摘要： To avoid repeated damage to a lower section of a metal roll-up door, the lower section is replaced by a more impactable curtain assembly. The curtain assembly is so readily scalable, horizontally and vertically, that much of it can be manufactured and field assembled right at the installation site. The curtain assembly may comprise one or more strips of fabric that are cut from a roll of a certain width. The length of the fabric strips corresponds to the width of the doorway, and the number of strips is based on the vertical span of the door section that is being replaced. Windbars can be attached where adjacent strips connect to each other. A weighted, semi-rigid bottom bar reinforces the lower edge of the finished roll-up curtain. Under impact, the bottom bar has sufficient flexibility to allow the curtain to resiliently break away from within the door's vertical guide tracks.

摘要： A mounting system is disclosed for the mounting of a sheet on a roll-up door. The sheet is contemplated to have top and bottom opposed edges with continuous beads therealong for association with the mounting system. An elongate frame member is fixed to an upper one of the elongate panels in the elongate direction thereof. The frame member includes a mortise to receive the continuous bead along the top edge of the sheet. An elongate spring cover is mounted to one of the lower elongate panels of the roll-up door and has an access opening facing toward the elongate frame member. Springs are affixed within the elongate spring cover and attached to an elongate attachment which also includes a mortise to receive the continuous bead of the bottom edge of the sheet. The assembly of the springs, elongate attachment and sheet extend through the access opening. Engagement holes may be arranged in the elongate attachment to anchor the attachment for assembly of the sheet with the mounting system while the sheet is not in tension.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a rolling protective shutter having slats with integrated screw bosses formed in their hinges. Each slat includes a first elongated socket along one edge of the slat, and a second elongated socket along the opposite edge of the slat. The hinges of the shutter curtain are formed by pivotally disposing the second elongated socket of one slat within the first elongated socket of an adjacent slat. After the shutter curtain is assembled, alignment/retention members are attached to either end of the second elongated socket to keep the slats substantially vertically aligned and retained within the side tracks. The alignment/retention members engage the adjoining slats to prevent substantial relative movement of the interconnected slats, and are dimensioned so that the alignment/retention members do not extend beyond the surfaces of the slats. Consequently, the shutter curtain may be tightly rolled onto the shutter support member without interference from the alignment/retention members.

摘要： A damage minimizing closure door moveable vertically between open and closed positions wherein the closure door is a continuous flexible curtain having a rigid bottom bar that is releasably connected to guide structures adjacent a door opening. The side edges of the curtain may separate from the guide structures upon being impacted by an externally applied force. During relatively high wind pressure or differential pressure conditions across the door, causing the flexible curtain to tend to billow or move transversely in directions into and away from the door opening, frictional contact develops between the faces of the curtain and the guide structures as well as between a wind bar and windstrip associated with the door and guide structures. The rigidity of the bottom bar tied into the guide channel structures reduces this effect of friction, thus easing the upward and downward movement of the door within the guide structures.

The plastic member can have a snap-on construction to facilitate the assembling thereof, and also for the removal thereof in the event replacement is necessary. The roll-up door is provided with a direct drive gearing arrangement disposed between the motor gear of the roll-up and roll-down mechanism and the support roller gear to avoid the building up of forces therethrough usually caused when the support roller becomes fixed in place or difficult to rotate due to cold weather conditions. Preferably, the mounting arrangement also includes a wind bar and weather sealing fins to prevent outside wind, rain, snow and the like from passing therethrough into the doorway.
