摘要： A high speed roll door is movable between an open and a closed position at an opening of a building. The door includes a flexible curtain and a pair of side columns. Each side column provides an inner track to guide the curtain in vertical movement and restrain the curtain from lateral movement during deployment and retraction. The curtain further includes multiple cross bars supporting the flexible curtain from one of the pair of side columns to the other. Each of the cross bars further includes a first longitudinal bar sandwiching part of the curtain; and a second longitudinal bar pivotally connected to the first longitudinal bar. The hinge has an axis of rotation parallel to the first and the second longitudinal bars. At least a wheel is rotatably affixed to each end of the second longitudinal bar to engage the inner track of each of the side columns.

摘要： A rolling door or shutter (1) has a series of preferably planar panels (3, 3A) which are joined by pairs (6) of pivotally connected hinge members (7, 8). The shutter slides up and down with its side edges guided in tracks (2). When the shutter is closed, e.g. against a bottom sill, the hinge members of each pair (6) pivot about one another to jam between opposing walls (30, 31) of the guide tracks. The pivotal range of each hinge pair may be limited to prevent the hinge pair from straightening when the shutter is suspended. This ensures the hinge pairs always fold in the same way when the shutter is closed. The panels may be rolled steel, extruded aluminium, moulded (optionally transparent) polycarbonate plastic, or tempered glass sheets fitted with edge cappings.

摘要： An improved joint construction (10) for a roll-up door includes specially-configured upper and lower panel sections (12, 11), a specially-configured hinge member (13) adapted to be longitudinally inserted into operative engagement wiht lower panel section, and a seal member (14) protectively concealed within a recess (73) in the upper panel section. The hinge member is coated with a low friction material to facilitate its longitudinal insertion into operative engagement with the lower panel section, and to facilitate relative movement of the adjacent panel sections. The lower panel section has an upwardly-extending lug (42) which is arranged to enter the recess in the upper panel section and compress the seal member when the adjacent panels are in vertically-aligned relation to one another.
