    摘要: An ink-applying device includes a rotary ink-application roller and a rotary dosing roller positioned between the ink-application roller and a funnel-shaped ink reservoir filled with ink. A bottom wall of the dosing roller is formed with a longitudinal row of conical holes of differing diameters.A number of dosing chambers of differing diameters are formed, respectively in the circumferential surface of the dosing roller to receive ink from the ink reservoir through those holes and to transmit it to an ink-application roller upon rotation of the dosing roller. A plurality of vertically movable plungers are mounted in the ink reservoir to selectively close or open the filling holes in the bottom wall communicated with respective dosing chambers in the dosing roller. A predetermined ink profile on the dosing roller may be obtained in each ink zone by selecting holes and dosing chambers to be closed and open.

    摘要: Disclosed is a control system for an ink blade of a printing machine provided with a series of key setting units each having a key position sensor and a key drive controlled by an adjusting device described in patent application Ser. No. 252,126. In order to achieve proper adjustment of marginal key setting units, there is provided a switching unit with a plurality of contacts assigned to respective key position measuring sensors and including additional switching contacts assigned to imaginary key position setting units adjoining the real setting units at each end of the ink zone. The additional marginal switching contacts are connected to the output of assigned sample-and-hold members which apply thereto the measured value from the extreme actual position sensors so that comparing differential transducer comparing the measured values of consecutive pairs of position sensors always produces a starting difference which does not exceed a predetermined limit value.

    摘要: For use with an ink fountain having a trough with a flat sloping bottom wall and a fountain roller at the presented edge of the bottom wall, a moveable partition for dividing the trough into adjacent feeding and non-feeding areas. The partition consists of a trough-engaging portion having a straight face for engaging the bottom wall of the trough and a separate roller-engaging portion having an arcuate face for engaging the roller surface. Resilient sealing strips are secured to the faces thereof for sealing against the flat bottom wall of the trough and the cylindrical surface of the roller. The two portions are so arranged that their adjacent edges overlap to block the escape of ink, and are connected one to the other by a pivot which extends parallel to the roller axis in the region of the overlap. The pivot is fitted loosely to provide play in the plane of the partition so that when the trough-engaging portion is clamped downwardly and forwardly in the direction of the fountain roller, the roller-engaging portion is free to undergo rocking and translational movement for intimate seating of the arcuate face thereof on the fountain roller notwithstanding variations in the transverse positioning of the roller axis vertically and horizontally with respect to the bottom wall of the trough.

    摘要: A control and monitoring provision for final control elements such as inking and dampening fountain keys or metering screws at printing machines. A displacement pickup disk is solidly connected to the movable part of the final control element together with sensing means having two sensing elements. The output of the sensing elements is fed to a circuit for recognizing the direction of rotation of the final control element and to an electronic counting device with optical display. In a following comparison circuit the preset set point values are compared with the actual values and the comparison circuit is followed by a circuit for reversing the direction of rotation of the motor and for opening of a gate having its inputs connected as desired with a preset set point device and a data carrier and the output of the gate is connected to a monitor provision and by way of a following amplifier to the final control element.

A number of dosing chambers of differing diameters are formed in the circumferential surface of the roller to receive ink from the ink reservoir and to transmit it to an ink-transmitting roller upon rotation of the pick-up roller. The ink dosing chamber may be selectively closed after they have been filled with ink, in any required combination by a number of sliders or plungers adapted to move between a closing and opening positions and controlled by electromagnets or any suitable electronic device.

The deformability of the doctor blade results in exactly defined transfer of ink in each inking zone (11/1, 11/2, 11/3) from the duct roller (2) to the inking transfer rollers of the printing system, without mutual influencing of adjacent inking zones.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a device for feeding ink to a printing press. The invention includes an ink drum and at least one doctor blade for micrometrically proportioning one or more ink films of different colors in narrow zones through a gap provided between the outer surface of the ink drum and the bottom edge of the doctor blade. A key improvement relates to a plurality of holders for carring a plurality of thin plates having contoured edges for acting as seals against the outer surface of the ink drum and against the front face of the doctor blade whereby there is formed a plurality of reservoirs for supplying a plurality of inks simultaneously through a gap provided between the ink drum and the doctor blade. In each holder, an adjustable screw presses against an element which contacts an uncontoured edge of each thin plate. The pressed element may be a captive ball traveling in a groove or a lever pivoted about an axis provided in each holder. This contact by the pressed element against the thin plate causes the contoured edges of the plate to act as seals for forming sides of each ink reservoir.

    摘要: A greasy ink printing press including a rubber coated inking cylinder coacting with a plate cylinder has an inking device comprising a wiping cylinder formed by a small diameter rod pressed against the inking cylinder in a zone of downward movement thereof, with an ink trough formed in the space above the zone of contact of the rod and inking cylinder. A variable-speed electric motor rotates the rod in the same direction of rotation as the inking cylinder to laminate the ink between the rod and inking cylinder and provide a counter-current wiping of the inking cylinder. The rod may be reciprocated longitudinally to remove streaks.
