An image search apparatus has:a dimension reducing unit for reducing dimensions of multidimensional feature data to be produced as approximate data;an approximate-data storing unit for storing the produced approximate data with corresponding to the multidimensional feature data before the dimension reduction;a search request receiving unit for receiving an identifier which identifies multidimensional feature data of a person to be searched, at least as a search key;an approximate-space searching unit for calculating distances between approximate data corresponding to the received search key, and plural approximate data stored in the approximate-data storing unit, and for arranging the distances in order of similarity; anda real-space final ranking unit for again performing a distance calculation with using the multidimensional feature data before the dimension reduction, on a group of results in which the similarity is high, and for determining final rankings.

Methods and apparatus for predistorting signals in a polar modulation transmitter. An exemplary method includes predistorting an envelope component signal in an amplitude path of a polar modulation transmitter according to a set of AM/AM predistortion coefficients, and predistorting a phase component signal in a phase path of the polar modulation transmitter according to a set of AM/PM predistortion coefficients. The AM/AM and AM/PM predistortion coefficients are stored in a memory in the form of a look up table (LUT). The envelope component signal is scaled and/or offset, before predistortion is applied, by an amount dependent upon which average power level of a plurality of average power levels the power amplifier of the polar modulation transmitter is configured to operate. Scaling and/or offsetting the envelope component signal prior to applying predistortion affords the ability to share the AM/AM and AM/PM predistortion coefficients of the predistortion LUT over the plurality of average power levels.

A transmitting apparatus capable of enhancing the certainty of data transmission of MIMO system, improving the system throughput, and providing a retransmission technique adaptive to the multi-antenna transmission. In this apparatus, a serial/parallel converting part (300) serial/parallel converts the data, which is to be transmitted, into a number nT of data substreams. A data rearranging part (301) rearranges, based on feedback information, the nT data substreams. CRC encoding parts (302) CRC encode the respective data substreams. Modulating/encoding parts (303) modulate and encode the respective corresponding data substreams. A number nT of transmission antennas (304) transmit the data substreams.

A coloring layer (110) is laminated on one surface of a plate glass substrate (101). The coloring layer (110) includes a complementary color component that is a complementary color of a reflection spectrum of the glass substrate (101). Thereby, when the glass plate (100) is viewed from a side opposite to the side to which the coloring layer (110) is laminated, the color of the glass substrate (101) is hardly visible.

A light-quantity adjusting function of a diaphragm used for light quantity control for improving the contrast of a projected image is controlled to cancel light quantity variation due to variation of the driving power of the light source for increasing the service life. This control keeps the quantity of light coming into a display element at a constant value and achieves both service life extension of the light source and image projection having no brightness fluctuation.

The cloning source of an authorized receiving device cannot be identified. A key distribution system 1 concerning the present invention includes: a communication channel 10; a key distribution center 11; a server 12; and receiving devices 13a to 13n. The key distribution center 11 distributes, to the server 12, the information necessary for distributing shared keys SK to the receiving devices 13a to 13n, and distributes the individual information group EMMG necessary for receiving the shared keys SK from the server 12. The server 12 generates the shared keys SK, generates the common information ECM based on the shared keys SK and the system secret variable group set SPGS, and distributes the common information ECM to the receiving devices 13a to 13n. The receiving devices 13a to 13n obtain the shared keys SK based on the individual information group EMMG and the common information ECM and outputs them to outside.

Provided is a transmitting device which improves a data rate while maintaining channel estimation accuracy, or improves channel estimation accuracy while maintaining a data rate, in a MIMO-OFDM system. In the transmitting device, a transmitting antenna information adding section (104) adds transmitting antenna information to a pilot signal by performing different phase rotation to the separate pilot signal by transmitting antenna by having a common pilot signal as a reference phase. A pilot arranging section (107) is previously provided with, as a conversion table, a corresponding relationship between combination information of the transmitting antenna and a subcarrier to be used for transmission of the pilot signal and control information. The pilot arranging section (107) allocates the pilot signal outputted from the transmitting antenna information adding section (104) to the subcarrier to have the combination information in accordance with the control information.

A device and method for bonding objects to be bonded each having a metal bonding portion on a substrate, comprising cleaning means for exposing the metal bonding portions to a plasma having an energy enough to etch the surfaces of the metal bonding portions at a depth of 1.6 nm or more over the entire surfaces of the metal bonding portions under a reduced pressure and bonding means for bonding the metal bonding portions of the objects taken out of the cleaning means in an atmospheric air. By using a specific scheme, metal bonding portions after the plasma cleaning can be bonded in the atmospheric air, thereby significantly simplifying the bonding process and the whole device and lowering the cost.

The present invention provides a toner comprising core particles that contain at least first resin particles, colorant particles, and wax particles, in an aqueous medium, wherein the core particles contain nucleus particles in which the first resin particles and the colorant particles are aggregated and particles in which the first resin particles and the wax particles are aggregated. Accordingly, the treatment time for forming the core particles can be shortened, generation of colorant particles or wax particles that are not aggregated but suspended in a liquid can be suppressed, and particles having a small particle size and a sharp particle size distribution can be formed without classification, by suppressing an increase in the size of core particles.
