    摘要: An electrically conductive probe, such as a probe similar to those utilized in other electric leak detection systems, is positioned electrically adjacent to different regions of a wall of an underground access chamber, for detection of leaks therein. In one embodiment, the probe is positioned at an elevation and circumferential position which is sequentially adjusted so that the probe can scan regions of the wall for leaks. In another embodiment, a modified probe remains centrally located within the underground access chamber and only moved vertically. The modified probe is fitted with whiskers extending radially. The modified probe includes sectors circumferentially spaced from each other and with each whisker associated with one of the sectors. A selector switch electrically connects one sector to the electrically conductive cable. Data collected by either probe can be graphed or otherwise analyzed with regions of high conductivity correlating with leaks in the underground access chamber.

    摘要: An air separation unit includes an air inlet with a reversible blower downstream therefrom and an adsorption bed filled with adsorption media downstream of the reversible blower. The adsorption bed contains an adsorption media which preferentially adsorbs nitrogen over oxygen. An oxygen and argon output is located downstream of the absorption bed. At least a portion of the mixed gas of oxygen and argon is routed to a modular argon separator which separates out at least a portion of the argon to provide high purity oxygen to a high purity oxygen outlet. The argon separator can be configured as a molecular sieve filter to separate the argon from the oxygen or the argon separator can be in the form of a gas cooler and condenser which condenses liquid oxygen for storage and discharge as substantially pure oxygen.

    摘要: A tilt resistor is interposed between shoulder pads or other torso support structures and a helmet. The helmet is coupled to one side of the tilt resistor and the torso support is coupled to another side of the tilt resistor. The tilt resistor acts as a pivot joint allowing the helmet to tilt about a horizontal lateral axis relative to the torso support. An acceleration sensor associated with the tilt resistor locks the tilt resistor so that the helmet stops tilting when tilting acceleration sensed by the accelerometer is greater than a desired maximum amount. The tilt resistor is coupled to the torso support, preferably through a collar, which allows rotation of the tilt resistor about a vertical axis. Stops are provided to limit both rotation about a vertical axis and tilting motion within limited ranges that are preferably adjustable.

    摘要: The plug includes a rigid tapering frustum with an upstream end having a larger diameter than a downstream end. A bladder is located outboard of the frustum and preferably fastened to the frustum. The bladder preferably has a toroidal form. A fluid fill system extends into an interior of the bladder to provide fluid for inflating or deflating the bladder. When the bladder is inflated with fluid passing into the interior, an outer wall of the bladder is expanded against a wall of a pipe where the plug is located, to hold the plug in place. As pipeline fluid forces act downstream on the frustum of the plug, the frustum moves slightly downstream, exerting a radial force through the bladder and against the wall of the pipe, so that pressure within the pipe and upstream of the plug enhances radial force with which the bladder engages the pipe wall.

    摘要: The die forming process includes first passing a circular coarse thread cutter over the forming surface of the die at an angle away from parallel to a side edge matching a pitch for coarse threads to be formed by the die. The coarse thread cutter is truncated with a notch within a flattened tip, the notch forming upper portions of crests in the forming surface of the die. A fine thread cutter of circular form is then utilized to cut portions of the root of the dual threaded die. The fine thread cutter is angled relative to side edges of the die at an angle substantially half of an angle at which the coarse thread cutter is angled. The fine thread cutter cuts at a variable depth as the fine thread cutter advances along the root between the crests to form flanks of a bridge within the root.

    摘要: In a dropped ceiling assembly system elements are provided which include an elongate planar shelf held below an elongate spine. The shelf has lateral edges which can support edges of a ceiling tile resting thereon. This spine is configured to be held in position either adjacent to spines of other elements within a dropped ceiling or from above, such as by suspension wires passing through suspension holes in the spine. A compartment is provided on an underside of the shelf which is sized and shaped to receive and hold at least a portion of a loudspeaker therein. The loudspeaker mounting system is thus integrated into the shelf which also acts to hold ceiling tiles within a dropped ceiling.

    摘要: The vaporizer assembly includes a nail sub-assembly formed of a high rate of heat transfer material and an adapter assembly formed of a lower rate of heat transfer material. The nail sub-assembly includes a bowl at an upper end and a shaft extending down from the bowl. The shaft has a hollow bore passing therethrough. The nail sub-assembly is preferably formed of a titanium alloy which can be heated to high temperatures without damage thereto. The adapter has a hollow core sized to receive the shaft of the nail therein. The nail is preferably threaded along with portions of the adapter to facilitate height adjustability of the nail relative to the adapter. Lower portions of the adapter are configured to mate with a water pipe inlet tube or other downstream vapor handling device.
