A comb for making a branch connection to preexisting cabling in an information transmission network comprises branch connection plugs fitted with contact fingers suitable for being inserted in an electrical junction strip for connecting the preexisting cabling to branch cabling. Said electrical junction strip is designed to establish electrical continuity between inlet electrical cabling and outlet electrical cabling. The comb has at least two branch connection plugs secured to a single fixing plate, and handle means for said fixing plate.

The printed antenna is compact and comprises, superposed by dielectric layers, two feed lines having perpendicular microstrips, a ground plane, a first radiating element including a plurality of conductive strips perpendicular to a first coupling slot formed in the ground plane, and a second radiating element superposed on the first element and including a plurality of conductive strips crossing by superposition the first strips and perpendicular to a second coupling slot formed in the ground plane. For example, the elements radiate in the DCS-1800 and GSM radiotelephone frequency bands with perfectly orthogonal fields.

A method and apparatus are disclosed for providing an attribute of a user profile to a requesting electronic device through a personal data server, the user profile being stored on a first electronic device of the user, the attribute pertaining to a data type characterized by a plurality of accuracy levels. The method includes for the personal data server receiving a request from the requesting electronic device for an attribute of the user profile, collecting the requested attribute from the first electronic device, comparing the user profile and a profile of the requesting electronic device, changing the accuracy level of the collected attribute based on the comparison to define an updated attribute, and providing the updated attribute to the requesting electronic device in response to the request.
Abstract:
A method and system are provided for populating an electronic device registered for a user with applications from an application platform that the electronic device is operating with. The method is carried out by an application recommendation node. The method includes the acts of collecting a user profile for the user and an identifier for the electronic device, selecting a list of applications from the application platform based on the user profile, associating the list of applications with the identifier, receiving notification of a first presentation of the identifier following the association, and pushing the list of applications to the electronic device corresponding to the identifier following the notification.

A secure communication method including: obtaining sensor information of at least one user, the sensor information including one or more of image information or depth information; recognizing at least one gesture in accordance with the sensor information of the at least one user; determining whether each of the recognized at least one gesture is a public gesture or a private gesture in accordance with a zone where the gesture was performed, the zone being selected from a plurality of zones; and authorizing access to a resource when it is determined that the at least one gesture is determined to be the public gesture or the private gesture.

A telecommunications system communicates data packets to and from a mobile terminal in accordance with a mobile internet protocol. The system includes a packet radio network having a first radio access interface and a gateway support node and includes a wireless access network having a second radio access interface and a home agent. The mobile terminal is arranged to connect to one of the packet radio network or the wireless access network and, when connected, to detect which of the packet radio network and the wireless access network the mobile terminal has connected. Upon detection that the mobile terminal is attached to the packet radio network, the mobile terminal and the home agent are arranged so that data packets are transmitted to and from the mobile terminal via the gateway support node in preference to the home agent.

A method is provided for optimizing future resource usage in a cloud environment including first and second cloud services. Each cloud service is associated with at least one of technical and business restrictions defining a maximum capacity. The method includes: monitoring current usage patterns of the cloud services; predicting future usage patterns based on the monitored usages; calculating an estimated future time to reach a technical or business restriction for the first cloud service based on the predicted future usage patterns; and adjusting, at a later time associated with the estimated future time, the maximum capacity associated with at least one of the first cloud service and the second cloud service based on the calculation of the estimated future time.

A method is provided for recommending content in a distributed database environment. The distributed database environment includes a first user, a second user, a first container of searchable data accessible by the first user and a second container of searchable data accessible by the second user. The method includes: receiving by a search routine, a selection of a first search result produced in response to a first search on a first search term by the first user in the first container; associating the selection and attributes of the selection within the first container with the first search term; performing a search, by the search routine, on a second search term that is the same or similar to the first search term according to a predefined criteria, of the second user in the second container; producing a second search result that is influenced by the associated selection and attributes.

A distributed method of processing data in a navigation module, having a local database allowing recording and access to data recorded by one or more modules suitable for being loaded into the navigation module and belonging to the same common navigation domain is disclosed. In one aspect, the method comprises loading a first Web page and a first work module associated with the first Web page and belonging to the common navigation domain, processing by the first work module, according to a set of instructions of a set of data to be processed. During an interruption, an intermediate result is stored in the local database. Subsequent to the loading of a new Web page, a new work module belonging to the common navigation domain is loaded and resumes the processing of the data to be processed according to the remaining instructions until obtaining a final result.

A method and device are provided for modifying a compounded voice message having at least one first voice component. The method includes a step of obtaining at least one second voice component, a step of updating at least one item of information belonging to a group of items of information associated with the compounded voice message as a function of the at least one second voice component and a step of making available the compounded voice message comprising the at least one first and second voice components, and the group of items of information associated with the compounded voice message. The compounded voice message is intended to be consulted by at least one recipient user.
