Abstract: A method and system for enhancing the resolution of a camera are disclosed. For example, a single lens can be placed at a predetermined position and the position of a lens assembly can be adjusted so as to enhance the resolution of the camera. The single lens can then be moved so as to effect focusing of the camera while the position of the lens assembly tends to maintain enhanced resolution thereof.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method the includes determining if a collision will occur between a transmission from a first user equipment that uses a persistently assigned uplink resource (such as for VoIP packet transmissions) and a retransmission from a second user equipment that uses a synchronous non-adaptive automatic repeat request procedure (e.g., synchronous, non-adaptive HARQ). If it is determined that a collision will occur, the method dynamically allocates the first user equipment to another uplink resource to avoid the collision, while if it is determined that the collision will not occur, the first user equipment is not dynamically allocated another uplink resource so that the first user equipment sends its transmission using the persistently assigned uplink resource. The embodiments of this invention pertain to both the base station (e.g., an evolved Node-B) and the user equipment.

Abstract: This application relates to recombinant human interferon-like proteins. In one embodiment a recombinant protein created by gene shuffling technology is described having enhanced anti-viral and anti-proliferative activities in comparison to naturally occurring human interferon alpha 2b (HuIFN-α2b). The invention encompasses a polynucleotide encoding the protein and recombinant vectors and host cells comprising the polynucleotide. Preferably the polynucleotide is selected from the group of polynucleotides each having a sequence at least 93% identical to SEQ ID: No. 1 and the protein is selected from the group of proteins each having an amino acid sequence at least 85% identical to SEQ ID No: 2. The proteins and compositions comprising the proteins can be used for treatment of conditions responsive to interferon therapy, such as viral diseases and cancer.

Abstract: A lens assembly suitable for use in miniature cameras is disclosed. The lens assembly can have a plurality of glass lenses having spherical surfaces and a single plastic lens having aspheric surfaces, for example. Optionally, all of the lenses can be disposed within a common lens barrel. A pupil plane can be located just in front of the first lens to provide a small chief ray angle. Both the cost of the lens assembly and alignment sensitivity are advantageously mitigated.
