    摘要: A slurry composed of coal and a solvent containing donatable hydrogen, together with hydrogen, is subjected to catalyst-free hydrogenation conditions in a first hydrogenation zone to form an intermediate coal-solvent slurry. After removing ash from the intermediate coal-solvent slurry to form a coal-solvent solution, the coal-solvent solution is subjected to catalytic hydrogenation conditions in a second hydrogenation zone to obtain a product that can be separated at ambient pressure into (a) a first liquid fraction boiling at a temperature in the range of about 100.degree. to about 375.degree. C., (b) a second liquid fraction boiling above said first liquid fraction at a temperature in the range of about 200.degree. to about 525.degree. C. and (c) a solid and/or semi-solid material. Following the separation, at least a portion of the second liquid fraction is recycled to the first hydrogenation zone.

    摘要: A catalytically hydrogenated naphtha stream containing less than 10 ppm by weight of sulfur is pyrolyzed without added hydrogen to a product including ethylene. Selectivity to ethylene is increased by adding a sulfur compound to increase the sulfur content to above 20 ppm by weight based on hydrogenated naphtha. Addition of the sulfur compound increases the quality of hydrogenated naphtha as a pyrolysis feedstock nearly to that of a C.sub.2 to C.sub.5 paraffin stream.

    摘要: A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition consisting essentially of a natural or synthetic tackifier, an elastomer comprising isoprene and piperylene and a solvent. The elastomer is preferably prepared from certain selected copolymerized C.sub.5 -hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon mixture containing C.sub.5 -monoolefinic hydrocarbons, C.sub.5 -diolefinic hydrocarbons (cyclic and acyclic), C.sub.5 -paraffins, C.sub.6 -aliphatics, and benzene.The elastomers thus formed, when mixed with certain natural or synthetic tackifiers, have the required tack of pressure-sensitive adhesives.

    摘要: A process for producing an elastomer comprising selected copolymerized C.sub.5 -hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon mixture containing C.sub.5 -monoolefinic hydrocarbons, C.sub.5 -diolefinic hydrocarbons (cyclic and acyclic) C.sub.5 -paraffins, C.sub.6 -aliphatics and benzene which comprises separating the C.sub.5 -hydrocarbons from the mixture and copolymerizing a selected portion of the resulting C.sub.5 -hydrocarbon mixture in the presence of a catalyst system to form an elastomer. The elastomers produced are suitable for use in adhesive compositions in general but particularly useful as a component in pressure sensitive adhesive compositions.
