    Abstract: A system for identifying a cable end is provided. The system comprises: a near end for the cable, wherein the near end is visible; a far end for the cable, wherein the far end is in a hidden location; a cover assembly connected to the far end of the cable, wherein the cover assembly includes a near field communication device and a transponder, wherein the near field communication device transmits a signal through the transponder; and a device configured to communicate with the near field communication device, and further configured to facilitate a user to find the location of the cap connected to the far end.

    Abstract: A modular power distribution system comprises a chassis; and a backplane including a power input, and a plurality of module connection locations. A plurality of modules are mounted in the chassis, each module mounted to one of the module connection locations. Each module includes: (i) an OR-ing diode; (ii) a circuit protection device; (iii) a microprocessor controlling the circuit protection device; and (iv) a power output connection location. A circuit option switch is located on each module for setting the current limits for each module. A control module is provided connected to the backplane.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for optically initiated information collection for network connected devices are provided. In one embodiment, a device comprises: at least one service port to connect a cable to the device; an optical information interface comprising: an optical information interface management function executed by a processor coupled to a memory; an optical information interface database that stores information associated with the device; and an optical emitter controller in communication with the optical information interface management function; wherein the optical information interface management function receives from the optical information interface database a set of information selected for optical broadcast; and wherein the optical emitter controller varies an optical output of at least one optical emitter to modulate the set of information selected for optical broadcast onto an optical signal generated by the at least one optical emitter.
