摘要: A power management system including a battery-powered application, in which an input current is supplied by a source of current that may be a current-constrained source, such as a USB port, to a battery for charging the battery and to an application load. Battery charging current is supplied to the battery for a period of time based on magnitude of battery charging current, so that charging current of lesser magnitude is applied to the battery for a greater period of time. In accord with one implementation, battery charging current is determined by monitoring the difference between a programmed charging current, dependent on battery type, and magnitude of current used by the load. Change of battery charging current due to voltage mode charging, when charge current begins to drop as the battery approaches full charge, is detected, and in response, the charging period is set to a fixed charging period based on the battery.

摘要: Current control circuitry for controlling current supplied from a source, that may be a current-constrained source, to a load and a battery. A current limit control circuit limits current supplied by the source to the load in accord with a programmed current limit. Load current is measured, and an input charger control circuit controls magnitude of current to the battery based on the difference between measured load current and battery current programmed to be supplied to the battery, such that the sum of load current and battery current is maintained within the programmed current limit.

摘要: A stringed musical instrument has a body coupled to a single neck, multiple registers of strings, and a bridge that provides for at least one of acoustic and electronic separation of the multiple registers. The strings are preferrably arranged in paired courses, each of which has two members tuned to vibrate sympathetically with one another. In at least one of the members of each pair is a metallic string, and the other is a nylon or other non-metallic string. Preferred examples include a guitar, and more preferably an acoustic 12-string guitar. The bridge preferably has interleaved saddles for the various strings, each of which has its own associated pickup. The sounding board is reinforced with transverse brace struts. Optional equipment includes a balancing circuit that can be used to balance outputs of the vibration sensors.

摘要: A system and methods for copying, deleting, replacing, and moving content in group-editable web pages is disclosed. The system includes a server and devices, such as computers, which can communicate via a network. Users at the computers can access group-editable web pages from the server and request that content operations be performed involving content in a first page and optionally one or more second pages. The server obtains content operation details needed to perform the content operation by finding content operation implementation information in the first page itself and/or in another page.

摘要: A needle point protection sheath comprises a protector tube having a bore for receiving a hollow needle plus a needle hub within the bore. The protector tube has a closure cap at one end thereof and has a retention member at the other end to engage an end of the hub, to prevent the hub from passing out of the other tube end. The cap may carry a sleeve having a needle-pierceable wall at its inner end, or a mass of resilient material which is capable of being penetrated by the needle as the cap is closed, to seal the needle tip and thus prevent the spilling of blood residue when a blood collection needle is being enclosed for protection.

摘要: A number of charging regions and associated special charging rates are defined for a cellular telephone subscribers. The available charging regions are selectively assembled by subscribers to define charging areas within which that subscriber is entitled to special rates for cellular calls. When a subscriber is engaged in a cellular call and is located with the subscriber's charging area, the subscriber is charged the special charging rate granted to the charging region within which the subscriber is located. Otherwise, the subscriber is charged at conventional cellular charging rates. In instances where the subscriber is not given the special rate, or otherwise is to be charged at more than the lowest available rate, the system notifies the participating subscriber that the call is not subject to the special rate and gives the subscriber an opportunity to terminate without being charged.

摘要: A configuration for a synchronous drive belt and pulley combination wherein each belt tooth has at least part of its fore and aft flank surfaces shaped in cross-section as the arc of a circle the radius of which is centered on the pitch line of the belt a distance W apart. Each tooth-engaging pulley cavity has at least part of its fore and aft surfaces shaped in cross-section as the arc of a circle the radius of which is centered on the pitch circle. The tips of the belt teeth and the bases of the pulley cavities are relatively shaped such that upon engagement of the belt with the pulley compressive stress is exerted from each cavity base through each engaging belt tooth.

摘要: A method for destination and duration of stay determination in a geographically bounded area such as a smart home includes detecting movement by an identified individual in an origination location of a geographically bounded area and retrieving a contemporaneously generated pattern of movement for the individual. The method additionally includes comparing the pattern for the identified individual to a set of patterns in a pattern data store and predicting from a matching pattern both a destination location in the geographically bounded area and a duration of time at which the identified individual is to remain at the destination location. Finally, the method includes directing activation of a fixture at the destination location responsive to predicting the destination location, and directing deactivation of a fixture at the origination location responsive to predicting a duration of time that exceeds a threshold value.
