Abstract:
This invention relates to hinges for mounting a door on a furniture article frame. The hinges include at least a hinge cup member adapted to be affixed to the furniture door, a top hinge arm segment pivotably connected to the hinge cup member and comprising a top elongated aperture and two tabs, and an L-shaped hinge arm segment comprising at least a circular aperture, a center hole and two grooves. A base hinge arm segment comprising an elongated center hole, a circular aperture and an upper flange may also be used with the top hinge arm segment and the L-shaped hinge arm segment to allow adjustments to be made in a third direction. In some embodiments, turning a cam or eccentric screw allows adjustments to be made horizontally from side-to-side so that the desired spacing of the door from opposite sides of the door opening can be set. In some embodiments, turning a cam or eccentric screw allows adjustments to be made horizontally in-and-out so that the desired alignment of the door with the front face of the furniture article frame can be set. Finally, in some embodiments, vertical adjustments can also be made by loosening a fastening screw so that the desired spacing from the top and bottom of the door opening can be set.
Abstract:
A rotary shelf for use within a cabinet which has first and second mounting brackets spaced apart and opposing each other attached to the bottom and to the top of the inside of the cabinet. The mechanism includes integrally formed shelves, a shelf and post securing mechanism wherein a notched member affixed to a mounting bracket cooperatively receives an engaging member to secure the post and shelves in a stationary position. The mechanism also includes a shelf and cabinet opening adjustment mechanism to permit threadable adjustment of the post and carried shelves with respect to the cabinet opening.
Abstract:
A hinge for mounting a door on a furniture article frame includes a first hinge member adapted to be affixed to the furniture door and a first hinge arm segment pivoted to the first hinge member and having a first adjustment plate with an aperture and a second hinge member having a second hinge arm segment having a second adjustment plate with an aperture. Turning an adjustment screw connecting the adjustment plates to one another causes the second hinge arm segment to move relative to the first hinge arm segment in a direction perpendicular to the pivot axis and parallel to the door in a closed position thereof. A movable plate formed on the second hinge member and a base plate which supports the movable plate are adapted to be affixed to the furniture article frame by a fastening screw. Turning an eccentric mounted through the movable plate into the base plate causes the movable plate to be displaced on the base plate in a direction perpendicular to the pivot axis and perpendicular to the door in a closed position thereof.
Abstract:
A hinge for mounting a door on a furniture article frame, including a first hinge member adapted to be affixed to the furniture door and a first hinge arm segment having a rearward end portion pivoted to the first hinge member on a pivot axis. The first hinge arm segment includes a forward end portion on which is formed a first adjustment plate comprising two segments, the more forward segment forming a right angle with the more rearward segment and comprising an aperture. The hinge also includes a second hinge member adapted to be fastened to the furniture article frame and second hinge arm segment having a rearward end portion extending from the second hinge member. The second hinge member and second hinge arm segment are formed as one piece. The second hinge arm segment has a forward end portion on which is formed a second adjustment plate comprising two segments, the more rearward segment comprising an aperture and forming a right angle with the more forward segment. The first and second hinge arm segments are adjustably connected to one another by an adjustment screw cooperating with the adjustment plates through one of the apertures which is threaded and one aperture which is unthreaded.
Abstract:
A hinge for mounting a door on a frame of a furniture articles includes a first hinge member such as a hinge cup to be mounted to the door, a hinge arm connected at one end of the hinge arm to the hinge cup on a pivot pin fixed in the hinge cup, and a second hinge member in the form of a hinge plate disposed on the other end of the hinge arm. The hinge plate includes an elongate opening with a centrally disposed first section and adjacent sections communicating with the first section through first and second gap formed by projections extending from opposing sides of the elongate opening towards one another. A fastening screw can be premounted in the hinge arm plate by insertion into the first section of the elongate opening. The fastening screw is provided with a threaded section which engages the projection. The threaded section of the fastening screw and an unthreaded section are configured, respectively, to prevent passage of the fastening screw out of the first section of the elongate opening but to enable passage of the fastening screw for adjustment of the hinge arm plate on the frame member with a slight loosening of the fastening screw.
Abstract:
A self-positioning cabinet rail for a drawer guide for supporting a drawer in a drawer opening of a furniture article such as a cabinet includes a rail member with front and rear ends, upper and lower ledges, a cabinet rail roller and a projection on the front end of the rail member extending substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rail member. An extension member of a resilient or semiresilient material is disposed on the projection and extends below the bottom margin of the front end of the rail member to properly space the cabinet rail from the bottom of the drawer opening. The extension member also extends forward of the front margin of the front end of the rail member to provide an abutment surface or stop for the drawer front.
Abstract:
A bracket for use in a cabinet or similar furniture article with a false drawer front opening and with a drawer guide has a base attachable to a false drawer front and an engaging member upstanding from the base with a locking projection lockable in the false drawer front opening of the cabinet or furniture article and a support element upstanding from the base provided with at least one support post engageable by a tongue portion of the drawer guide.
