摘要： A separable bottom-end-stop assembly of thermoplastic synthetic resin, for a separable slide fastener, comprises a pair of first and second separate pin members, and a socket member for being secured to the first pin member, the socket member having a pair of first and second bores receptive of the first and second pin members, respectively. The first pin member has on its opposite faces a pair of recesses, and the socket member has a pair of opposed projections extending into the first bore. In assembling, the projections of the socket member are received in the respective recesses of the first pin member when the latter is inserted into the socket member's first bore. Because of this projection-and-recess locking, the first pin member can be kept exactly in position relative to the socket member while these two members are joined together by fusing.

摘要： A pair of continuous fastener stringers are fed intermittently for a distance corresponding to an individual slide fastener length. A strip is placed on one surface of the stringers while the latter are held stationary between intermittent movements. Then, heat and pressure is applied to the stringers at its portion where the strip has been placed upon; to fuse adjacent coupling elements with each other and with a pair of stringer tapes, and the latter with the strip, and to shape the fused coupling elements into a desired configuration. Such shaped coupling elements are cut to provide a separable pin and a retainer pin. Simultaneously with this cutting, the stringers are cut along a line extending transversely of the stringers and passing near the two pins to provide an individual slide fastener length. A retainer is attached to the retainer pin.

摘要： A pair of slide fastener stringers of continuous or substantially endless length comprising a pair of opposed stringer tapes and a pair of rows of coupling fastener elements carried along the respective confronting inner longitudinal edges of the stringer tapes. Each row of fastener elements has a plurality of sections devoid of fastener elements or at least of the coupling head portions thereof, said sections being spaced at substantially equal intervals defining the ultimate length of an individual fastener product. The end stops are applied to the tapes where the element-free or coupling-head-free sections are located. The tapes are made of thermoplastic synthetic fibers or their blended yarns and have a plurality of openings disposed adjacent to the element-free or coupling-head-free sections and extending across the element rows that have been coupled together. The marginal edges defining the openings are fused with heat.

摘要： Individual slide fasteners are manufactured from a pair of continuous slide fastener stringers having stringer tapes made of a fabric including thermoplastic synthetic fibers. While being advanced intermittently in the longitudinal direction, the stringers are stamped out to form an element-free gap therein and cut to sever off an individual slide fastener length simultaneously at a first station with the application of heat to fuse and solidify the cut end against reveling. A bottom end stop is mounted on the cut end portion of the severed slide fastener length also at the first station. During advancing movement from the first station, the fastener chain is threaded through a slider fixedly supported between the first station and a second station located downstream of the first station. A top end stop is mounted on the cut end portion of the continuous slide fastener stringers at the second station simultaneously with the steps repeated at the first station.

At a weakened region along the slide fastener coupling elements are omitted from each of the stringers so that when a bursting force is applied to this region the coupling elements adjacent thereto are disengaged. The coupling elements are omitted from the top of the first stringer so that when the slider is at the top of the coupling elements of the second stringer, the first stringer can disengage from the slider. When the slide fastener is fitted to an inflatable lifejacket, the stringers are separated completely when the lifejacket is inflated.
