摘要： A solid-state imager is mounted in a reader, such as a bi-optical, dual window, point-of-transaction workstation, for capturing light along an optical axis over a field of view from diverse targets useful for customer identification, customer payment validation, operator surveillance, and coded indicia. An optical converter is located within the housing, for optically modifying and asymmetrically magnifying the field of view along mutually orthogonal directions generally perpendicular to the optical axis, and for increasing resolution of the imager along one of these directions.

摘要： An imaging module is supported by a housing of a reader for electro-optically reading indicia. The imaging module includes a solid-state imager having an array of image sensors for capturing return light from the indicia during reading. A laser scanning module is also supported by the housing and includes a scanner for scanning at least one of a laser beam from a laser and a field of view of a light detector in a scan pattern across the indicia during reading. A controller is operatively connected to the modules, and is operative for preventing reading interference between the modules during reading.

摘要： An imaging based bar code reader for imaging and decoding a target bar code. The reader features a housing including a scanning head defining a horizontal axis and an imaging system supported by the housing for imaging the target bar code. The imaging system including a 2D sensor array and focusing optics receiving reflected illumination from the target bar code through the window and focusing the reflected illumination onto the sensor array. The sensor array includes an orthogonal array of pixels and defines a horizontal axis. The reader further features a decoding system for decoding an image of the target bar code. The sensor array is oriented such that the horizontal axis of the sensor array is at an acute angle with respect to the horizontal axis of the target bar code when the target bar code is being presented to the scanning head such that the horizontal axis of the target bar code is substantially parallel to the horizontal axis of the scanning head.
