    摘要: An electronic cash register employing a price-look-up table includes a detachable recording medium for recording item codes and the corresponding item prices, and a reader for reading the data from the detachable recording medium. During a transaction operation, the recording medium is checked to determine whether it is connected to the reader, and, if it is, the detachable recording medium is searched for an item involved in the transaction operation. If that item is present on the detachable recording medium a transaction operation based on the medium-recorded prices for that item, rather than a previously stored price for that item, is carried out.

    摘要: A hermetically sealed motor compressor for use in a small-size refrigerating machine, refrigerator, freezer and the like has a compressor on which is mounted a silencer comprising in combination a suction muffler of thermal insulating and a discharge muffler made of formed metal plates. The suction muffler has an suction port disposed near the open end of a suction coupling fixed to a sealed casing, and also has an connection pipe connected to a compressor cylinder and having a distal end fitted directly in a hole defined in an head plate which is mounted on the head of the cylinder. A refrigerant gas as it is introduced from the suction coupling into the sealed casing can be drawn into the cylinder through the suction port, the suction muffler and the connection pipe to minimize heat transfer to the suction gas, so that the compressor can increase its volumetric efficiency.

    摘要: The present invention is directed to improvements in a perpendicular magnetic recording-reproducing head. One of the improvements comprises the use of a magneto-resistive effect element to form the main pole of the magnetic head. This feature of the invention enables a stable and faithful reproduction of information recorded in a magnetic recording medium up to the shortest wavelength and to obtain a sufficiently large reproducing output signal. Another improvement comprises the use of such magneto-resistive effect elements in layers. The multilayer structure permits production of a large reproducing output and also an optimum S/N ratio even if the width of track is small.
