A method of wireless power transfer, by a power transfer transferring power to a plurality of power receivers, includes a selection phase for detecting each of the plurality of power receivers and transmitting a digital ping to each of the plurality of power receivers, an introduction phase for receiving a request from each of the plurality of power receivers for a free slot, a configuration phase for providing a series of locked slots to each of the plurality of power receivers, a negotiation phase for receiving at least one negotiation data packet from each of the plurality of power receivers using the series of locked slots, a power transfer phase for transferring power to each of the plurality of power receivers, and a renegotiation phase for returning to the negotiation phase.

A wireless power transmitter is provided which performs communication with a wireless power receiver through multiple slots. The wireless power transmitter comprises: a power converter consisting of at least one coil to convert a current into a magnetic field; and a power transmission controller that receives information associated with a power transfer phase from the wireless power receiver through at least one of the multiple slots, during the transfer of power to the wireless power receiver through the power converter, wherein the information associated with the power transfer phase contains a slot number assigned to the wireless power receiver.

The present disclosure relates to a wireless power transmission and reception method, a wireless power transmission and reception apparatus, and a wireless charging system in a wireless power transmission and reception field, and the method may include sensing whether or not there exists a wireless power receiver within a range capable of transmitting power in a wireless manner, sending a detection signal to the wireless power receiver, allowing the wireless power receiver to receive at least one of an identification packet and a setting packet transmitted in a first mode, determining whether or not to perform communication in either one of the first mode and a second mode different from the first mode based on the setting packet, and transmitting power to the wireless power receiver while performing communication in the determined either one mode, wherein the setting packet comprises an operation mode indicating a communication execution mode of the wireless power receiver.

This specification provides a method for deciding a communication protocol between a wireless power transmitter and a wireless power receiver. To this end, a method for deciding a communication protocol by the wireless power receiver for data transmission or reception with the wireless power transmitter includes transmitting first communication protocol information indicating communication protocols supportable by the wireless power receiver itself to the wireless power transmitter, and deciding a communication protocol for the data transmission or data reception based on second communication protocol information, which indicates communication protocols selected based on the first communication protocol information, when the second communication protocol information is received from the wireless power transmitter.

A wireless power transfer method for a wireless power transfer apparatus using full and half-bridge inverter topologies includes detecting whether or not a wireless power receiver is present within a range of power being transferrable in a wireless manner, transmitting a detection signal to the wireless power receiver, receiving at least one of identification information and setting information from the wireless power receiver, receiving a control error packet from the wireless power receiver, and controlling an amount of power to be transferred by using the combination of a driving frequency, a duty cycle or a power signal phase to the full or half-bridge inverter.

A wireless power reception device according to an embodiment of the present specification comprises: a power pickup circuit configured to receive wireless power from a wireless power transmission device by magnetic coupling with the wireless power transmission device at an operating frequency, and convert an AC signal generated by the wireless power into a DC signal; and a communication/control circuit for communicating with the wireless power transmission device by using in-band communication using the operation frequency and out-band communication using a frequency other than the operation frequency, wherein the communication/control circuit transmits access information of a Wi-Fi network connected to the wireless power reception device, to the wireless power transmission device by using the out-band communication.
