摘要： A liquid crystal display having a wide viewing angle and easily manufactured. The liquid crystal display comprises an upper substrate and a lower substrate, and a liquid crystal material disposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. The liquid crystal display has a conductive protrusion disposed on the surface of the upper substrate opposing to the lower substrate. The conductive protrusion is disposed over a scanning electrode line or a signal electrode line and has the same potential as that of the upper electrode. As another structure, each of pixel electrodes on the lower substrate has a smaller area than that of a common electrode on the upper substrate and is covered by the common electrode, and each of the pixel electrodes comprises an electrode portion having approximately symmetrical shape.

摘要： A data transmission apparatus includes a packet generation section, a frame encoding section, a transmission section, a reception section, a frame decoding section and a packet extraction section. The packet generation section generates a packet upon request. The frame encoding section generates a frame having a predetermined length by dividing the packet or adding dummy data to the packet and generates an error-correcting-code-added frame by adding an error correcting code to the frame. The transmission section transmits the generated error-correcting-code-added frame through a transmission line. The reception section receives the error-correcting-code-added frame. The frame decoding section performs an error detection and an error correction for the error-correcting-code-added frame. The packet extraction section extracts the packet by removing the error correcting code from the error-correcting-code-added frame for which the error detection and the error correction have been performed.

摘要： A light detection device which can be stably surface-mounted on, for example, a circuit board or the like, and a mounting method thereof are provided. A light-receiving element includes, a transparent conductive electrode (first electrode), a semiconductor layer, and an electrode (first electrode), which are sequentially laminated on a transparent substrate. An insulative substrate includes a terminal electrode (second electrode) which is provided to be exposed at first and second faces of the insulative substrate. The light-receiving element is disposed at the first face of the insulative substrate, and the transparent conductive electrode and the electrode are electrically connected with the terminal electrode exposed at the first face of the insulative substrate. Hence, the light detection device with this structure is surface-mounted on the circuit board such that the terminal electrode exposed at the second face of the insulative substrate connects with an external terminal of the circuit board.

摘要： In a semiconductor device using a silicon carbide substrate (1), the object of the present invention is to provide a method of manufacturing a semiconductor device that is a buried channel region type transistor having hot-carrier resistance, high punch-through resistance and high channel mobility. This is achieved by using a method of manufacturing a buried channel type transistor using a P-type silicon carbide substrate that includes a step of forming a buried channel region, a source region and a drain region, a step of forming a gate insulation layer after the step of forming the buried channel region, source region and drain region, and a step of exposing the gate insulation layer to an atmosphere containing water vapor at a temperature of 500° C. or more after the step of forming the gate insulation layer. The gate insulation layer is formed by a thermal oxidation method using dry oxygen.
