    摘要: A combustion plate for use in a totally aerated combustion burner has a ceramic plate body with a multiplicity of flame holes formed therein for ejecting a premixed gas. The plate body is provided, in a lattice shape, with non-flame-hole portions having no flame holes therein. Each of such regions of the plate body as are enclosed by the non-flame-hole portions constitutes a collective flame-hole portion having formed therein a plurality of flame holes. It is so arranged that flame lifting can be effectively prevented in the flame holes on the periphery of the collective flame-hole portions. Along each of such sides of the non-flame-hole portions as are adjacent to each of the collective flame-hole portions, outside flame holes are formed at a predetermined spacing therebetween in a longitudinal direction of the non-flame-hole portions. This predetermined spacing is greater than a spacing, in the longitudinal direction of the non-flame-hole portion.

    摘要: An image reading apparatus may include a main unit and a cover unit pivotally attached to the main unit. The cover unit may include an image reading device configured to read an image of a document along a conveying path. The image reading device may include a contact image sensor, a sensor holder to hold the contact image sensor, an urging member, and a shock absorber. The contact image sensor is disposed below the conveying path. The sensor holder has an open top boxed shape and holds the contact image sensor in position inside. The urging member is disposed in an inner bottom surface of the sensor holder to urge the contact image sensor toward the conveying path. The shock absorber is disposed between a bottom surface of the contact image sensor and the inner bottom surface of the sensor holder, and is made of a porous material.

The upper unit includes a sheet conveyer, an upper image reader connected with the controller via a flat cable, and an external covering. A rearward-extending section of the flat cable extends rearward from the upper image reader and is drawn in an area below a part of a frame of the sheet conveyer and to a rear section of the upper unit to reach an inner surface of the external covering at the rear end of the upper unit. A widthwise-extending section of the flat cable extends from the rear end of the upper unit along the inner surface of the external covering in a direction orthogonal to reach an outlet of the upper unit.

    摘要: A liquid discharge device is provided with a head, a cover member, a negative pressure source, a seal member, and a controller. The head has a nozzle plane in which a nozzle is formed. The cover member has a fluid passage and is capable of covering the nozzle plane such that one end of the fluid passage is in communication with the nozzle. The negative pressure source is connected to the fluid passage. The seal member has a non-nozzle plane in which the nozzle is not formed. The non-nozzle plane is capable of sealing the one end of the fluid passage. The controller drives the negative pressure source in a first state in which the cover member is covering the nozzle plane. The controller drives the negative pressure source in a second state in which the non-nozzle plane is sealing the one end of the fluid passage.

    摘要: A printer having a fewer number of components and a simple structure, and capable of double-side printing is provided. A multi-function device 1 comprises a printing unit 10, a cassette 5, a supply unit 6, a sheet support plate 11, a cover plate 46, and a pair of feed-out rollers 21a, 21b. The cassette 5 is located blow the printing unit 10 and contains stacked sheets. The supply unit 6 discharges a sheet from the cassette 5 to the printing unit 10. The sheet transported into the printing unit 10 is placed on the sheet support plate 11 in the printing unit 10 during printing. An opening 50 is formed on the sheet support plate 11. The cover plate 46 is movable between a covering position that covers the opening 50 and an uncovering position that uncovers the opening 50. The pair of feed-out rollers 21a, 21b nips a sheet at the exit of the printing unit 10, rotates in a forward direction, and thereby pulls out the nipped sheet from the printing unit 10. The cover plate 46 is located at the uncovering position when the pair of feed-out rollers 21a, 21b rotates in a reverse direction in order to return the nipped and pulled sheet to the cassette 5 through the opening 50 of the sheet support plate 11. The multi-function device 1 returns the one side printed sheet to the cassette 5 again through the opening 50 formed on the sheet support plate 11. The one side printed sheet returned to the cassette 5 is fed to the printing unit 10 again by the supply unit 6. The multi-function device 1 can return the one side printed sheet to the cassette 5 simply by conveying it for a very short distance. The multi-function device 1 could enable double-side printing with a fewer components than a conventional mechanism for double-side printing.
