    摘要: A sensor signal is generated from a plurality of sensors located on a sensing roll, wherein each signal is generated when each sensor enters a first nip between the sensing roll and a rotating component during each rotation of the sensing roll. A rotating applicator rod forms forming a second nip with the sensing roll such that each sensor enters the second nip during each rotation of the sensing roll. A periodically occurring starting reference is generated associated with each rotation of the applicator rod and the signal generated by each sensor is received so that a particular one of the sensors which generated the signal is determined and one of a plurality of tracking segments is identified. The signal is stored to associate the sensor signal with the identified one tracking segment.

    摘要: A removable media tray for an imaging device having a rear media restraint coupled to a media length sensing system. A rear media restraint, slideably latchable to a track in the tray, has a rack that engages with a gear train that drives an encoder gear. As the rear media restraint is adjusted for different media lengths, the rack and gear train rotate the encoder gear. The encoder gear has a plurality of encoder tracks each track having a unique binary pattern. A sensor array of a plurality of sensors corresponding to the plurality of encoder tracks has a plurality of outputs that combine to form a digital signal fed to a controller in the imaging device allowing the controller to determine a media length based in the position of the rear media restraint.

    摘要: Provided are a sheet feeding device and an image forming apparatus which can feed a sheet by an electrostatic adsorption with a simple configuration and with low noises.One end of a flexible adsorption member (29) is fixed to a holding member (24) rotating in a sheet feeding direction, and comes into surface contact with a sheet (P) stored in a sheet feeding cassette (20) while being elastically deformed when the holding member (24) is rotated, and adsorbs the sheet (P) by an adsorbing force by static electricity. Then, the sheet (P1) adsorbed to the adsorption member (29) is delivered to a registration roller (15) while winding up the adsorption member (29), and then the holding member (24) is stopped at a position where the adsorption member (29) is separated from the sheet.
