Abstract: A burner for a fire heating appliance may include a plenum for holding a quantity of fuel and a burn surface. The burn surface may include an apex wherein the burn surface slopes away from the apex and a plurality of orifices for passing fuel from the plenum therethrough. Each orifice may be surrounded by a sidewall. An outdoor heating appliance may include a base portion, a top portion, and a burner. The burner may be arranged in the top portion and may be configured for releasing fuel to form a flame. The burner may include a top pan portion and a bottom pan portion. The top and bottom pan portions may be arranged to form a plenum for containing and releasing fuel. The top pan portion may include a plurality of orifices having a raised sidewall.

Abstract: A burner has: a combustion plate part through which air-fuel mixture is ejected; and a flame rod which lies opposite to a portion of the combustion plate part. The combustion plate part is constituted by: a burner frame in a shape of a picture frame; a metal-fiber knit which covers an opening enclosed by the burner frame; and a distribution plate which has formed therein a multiplicity of distribution holes and which sandwiches the metal-fiber knit between the burner frame and the distribution plate so that the air-fuel mixture is ejected from the opening through the distribution holes and the metal-fiber knit. Flame holes for ejecting the air-fuel mixture are formed in a portion of the burner frame, and the flame rod is disposed so as to lie opposite to that portion of the burner frame which has formed therein the flame holes.

Abstract: The present invention provides a safer all-around radiation heating assembly than similar traditional heaters. As typical with traditional heaters, a shroud is used to surroundably cover a portable liquid propane tank. To replace the portable liquid propane tank, the shroud must be continuously raised to a predetermined height while a service person accesses the propane tank. There is a danger that if and when the shroud drops, a spark could be created resulting in igniting highly flammable escaped propane gas. The present invention overcomes dangers associated with the traditional heaters by eliminating the spark creation danger and by introducing a ventilation system to allow any leaked propane gas to escape away from the heater.
