    摘要: Headerless (i.e., zero byte) data packets are sent by a compressor over a radio bearer. The radio bearer includes a synchronized wireless link. A sequential timer-based value is associated with each of the headerless data packets. A decompressor generates a header based on the sequential timer-based value associated with a given received headerless data packet. A data packet having a compressed header is sent periodically over the synchronized wireless link. The data packet having the compressed header can also be sent when the compressor detects changes in slowly-varying header fields, in response to feedback received from the decompressor indicating that a decompression context is out of synchronization and/or just before talk spurts occur.

    摘要: Utilizing a sequential local search optimization algorithm, a determination is made of the cell/transceiver retunes needed to implement, given a current frequency plan, a better frequency plan for a certain cellular communications system. Each of the individual cell/transceiver retunes is evaluated to determine if it meets certain save criteria, and if so, is saved as an intermediate frequency plan in a sequence of saved intermediate frequency plans necessary to migrate from the current frequency plan to the determined near-optimal frequency plan. A sequential implementation of these intermediate frequency plan revisions is then made to gradually reach, in a known and controlled manner, the better frequency plan.

    摘要: A cellular communication system and method for determining cell relations between cells is disclosed. The cellular communication system transmits signals from one or more transmitters, for example, mobile stations or base stations, over a plurality of radio frequency channels that are assigned to the cells. The transmitted signals over the plurality of radio frequency channels are received at each one of the cells and their received signal strengths are measured at corresponding measurement times. The received signal strength measurements and corresponding measurement times are processed to determine whether a measured received signal strength at a corresponding measurement time is based on a transmission from a single transmitter in a cell. The measurements corresponding to signals found originated from single transmitters are used for determining the cell relations in terms of such parameters as path gain values or C/I ratios.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for providing wireless communication services, (e.g., multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMS)), are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) detects a plurality of target cell evolved Node-Bs (eNodeBs) that neighbor a serving cell eNodeB. The WTRU evaluates cell reselection criteria and determines a neighboring target cell eNodeB to reselect. The WTRU receives and reads master information block (MIB) and system information messages of the neighboring target cell eNodeB, and confirms that the determined neighboring target cell eNodeB is not part of a multimedia broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN). The WTRU identifies the neighboring target cell eNodeB to the serving cell eNodeB. The WTRU then receives and reads MIB messages of the neighboring target cell eNodeB again to determine whether the system information has changed and, if so, the WTRU reads the system information and reselects to the neighboring target cell eNodeB, which provides the wireless communication services.

    摘要: A method and a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), including a universal subscriber identity module (USIM), for identifying a closed subscriber group (CSG) cell are disclosed. The WTRU receives a broadcast from a cell including a cell identifier (ID). If the cell ID is associated with a CSG cell, the WTRU determines whether the CSG ID is programmed in the USIM. The cell broadcast may include a single bit information element (IE) indicating that the cell is a CSG cell. If the cell ID is a CSG ID, the cell ID may further include a plurality of fields which indicate at least one of a country, a region, an operator, and a home evolved Node-B (HeNB) number. The cell broadcast may further include a bit indicating whether the CSG cell is public or private. The cell broadcast may further include a bit indicating that emergency calls are allowed from all users.
