摘要： A novel optical recording medium having at least a recording layer and a reflective layer on a substrate is herein disclosed, wherein at least one dipyrromethene metal chelate compound represented by formula (1) is contained in the recording layer: wherein R1 and R9 are each independently an alkenyl group, an aryl group or a heteroaryl group; R2 to R8 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkoxy, alkenyl, acyl, alkoxycarbonyl, aralkyl, aryl or heteroaryl group having 20 or less carbon atoms; and M is a transition metal.

摘要： An ink jet printer is disclosed, which jets a water-soluble ink from a recording head comprising at least an ink passage-forming member and an orifice through the orifice to form flying droplets which form a dot image on a recording medium, wherein at least a portion of the ink passage-forming member is composed of borosilicate glass and the water-soluble ink comprises at least one of urea and thiourea. Further, an ink for use in the ink jet printer is also disclosed.

摘要： An inflatable bag comprises a small sack which is charged with sodium bicarbonate and accommodating a small externally breakable container filled with an acidic solution. The small sack is enveloped in an inflatable bag member which is made of a synthetic resin having no permeability to the gas which is generated as a reaction between the sodium bicarbonate and the acidic solution. As the small container is collapsed by external pressure, the acidic solution flows out of the container into reaction with the sodium bicarbonate, thereby generating carbon dioxide gas. The small sack is punctured by the gas pressure with a sound of a bang or a whistle and, thereafter, the inflatable gas member is gradually inflated. It is possible to use a plurality of small sacks made of a material which exhibits small extension, such that one small sack is contained in another sack. With this arrangement, the "bang" can be generated repeatedly or the whistles blown successively by the same number as the number of the small sacks used.
