An information communication method is provided that includes continuously capturing an image of a subject that transmits a signal by changing luminance, with an image sensor. The method also includes displaying a captured image that includes a box and a subject image for identifying the subject, while continuously updating a position of the subject image on the captured image, according to a positional relationship between the image sensor and the subject established when the image of the subject is captured. The method further includes determining whether the subject image is in the box, and receiving the signal transmitted by the subject when it is determined that the subject image is in the box. In the receiving, information is obtained by demodulating a bright line pattern that appears in a second image data and corresponds to the plurality of exposure lines.
Abstract:
A communication method for obtaining information from a subject includes obtaining image information of the subject in an image information-taking mode, obtaining visible light data of the subject in a visible light communication mode, and setting a shutter speed and an international organization for standardization (ISO) speed rating or a gain value for the visible light communication mode. The visible light communication mode is a different mode from the image information-taking mode. Also, in the setting, the shutter speed for the visible light communication mode is set to be faster than a shutter speed for the image information-taking mode, and the ISO speed rating or the gain value for the visible light communication mode is set to be greater than an ISO speed rating or a gain value for the image information-taking mode.
Abstract:
A transmitter that is difficult to be affected by structural constraints includes: a liquid crystal board; a first board having translucency; and a second board; and a control unit that changes, by switching transmittance of the liquid crystal board with respect to outside light through application, to the liquid crystal board, of a control voltage corresponding to a signal to be transmitted, an amount of light reflected by the first board and emitted toward the receiver via the liquid crystal board, wherein the control unit maintains, when switching the transmittance of the liquid crystal board to a low transmittance, the transmittance of the liquid crystal board at the low transmittance until the outside light that passed through the liquid crystal board is reflected by the second board and reaches the liquid crystal board.
Abstract:
A method is provided for sending a computer program from a server to a computer the computer program causing the computer to execute instructions, including setting a second exposure time of the image sensor so that a plurality of bright lines corresponding to a plurality of exposure lines included in an image sensor appear according to a change in luminance of a subject. The instructions also include obtaining a bright line image including the plurality of bright lines, wherein the exposure starts sequentially for the plurality of exposure lines each at a different time. The exposure of each of the plurality of exposure lines starts after a predetermined blank time elapses from when exposure of an adjacent exposure line adjacent to the exposure line ends, and the second exposure time is shorter than the first exposure time.
Abstract:
An information communication method that enables communication between various devices includes: determining a pattern of a change in luminance; transmitting a signal by a light emitter changing in luminance; determining a sequence of first and second image units; and displaying an image including the first and second image units arranged according to the determined sequence, wherein in the displaying: for 0, the sequence of the first and second image units is determined so that a first image unit group and a second image unit group that have a same number of image units as each other are consecutive; and for 1, the sequence of the first and second image units is determined so that a first image unit group and a second image unit group that have different numbers of image units from each other are consecutive.
Abstract:
An information communication method selects between a visible light communication mode in which information is obtained from a subject using an image sensor having a plurality of exposure lines and a normal imaging mode. The method includes obtaining first image data by image capture with a first exposure time in the normal imaging mode. When an image is presented that prompts a user of a terminal device including the image sensor to move the terminal device to enable the information to be obtained, second image data is obtained by image capture with a second exposure time, shorter than the first exposure time, in the visible light communication mode. The information is obtained by demodulating data specified by a direction in a pattern of a bright line appearing in the second image data and corresponding to the exposure lines that is substantially perpendicular to the exposure lines.
Abstract:
An information communication method selects between a visible light communication mode in which information is obtained from a subject using an image sensor having a plurality of exposure lines and a normal imaging mode. The information communication method includes obtaining first image data by image capture with a first exposure time in the normal imaging mode by sequentially starting exposure of each of the exposure lines of the image sensor at different times. Second image data is obtained by image capture with a second exposure time in the visible light communication mode. The information is obtained by demodulating data specified by a direction in a pattern of a bright line corresponding to the exposure lines, the second exposure time being shorter than the first exposure time. The second image data is obtained by capturing light emitted from the subject and spread by an optical system.
