摘要: Docking platforms formed in one of the largest-surface-area surfaces of mobile electronic devices. Such a docking platform may comprise a docking accessory cavity having a docking connection system comprising one or more docking connectors formed within the cavity, and optionally two or more electrical contacts within the cavity, the contacts electrically connected to electronics within the electronic device and constructed and arranged to allow electrical connection to detachable docking accessories. The docking connection system is operable to form detachable attachments to multiple independent docking accessories simultaneously. The cavities of the docking platforms are shaped to accommodate a broad range of docking accessories that are specially adapted to sit in a generally flush manner with the back surface of the mobile electronic device while attached to the docking connectors. One type of accessory forms an assembly with an expandable accordion attached to the docking platform.

摘要: An expandable socket accessory includes a body movable between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration. The body includes a first end and a second end. A platform is removably connected to the second end of the body. The platform includes a top surface, a bottom surface, and a collar extending axially away from the top surface. The collar defines a side opening and an inner radial surface. The side opening is sized to slidably receive at least a portion of the second end of the body. The inner radial surface of the platform cooperates with and retains the second end of the body in connection with the platform.

摘要: An expandable device includes a body with a first end, a second end, and a longitudinal axis. The body is movable between an expanded configuration and a collapsed configuration. A button is coupled to the first end of the body and includes an inner surface and an engaging member carried by the inner surface. A platform includes an outer surface and a collar extending away from the outer surface and the collar defines a cavity. A locking device is carried by the second end of the body, and a portion of the locking device is adapted to be removably disposed in the cavity of the platform for releasably coupling the body to the platform. When the body is in the collapsed configuration, the engaging member of the button engages the locking device such that the locking device is rotatable relative to the platform between an unlocked and a locked configuration.

Such a docking platform may comprise a docking accessory connection system having one or more docking connectors, and optionally two or more electrical contacts therein, the contacts electrically connected to an electronics assembly within the docking platform and constructed and arranged to allow electrical connection to detachable docking accessories. The docking accessory connection system is operable to form detachable attachments to multiple independent docking accessories simultaneously. The docking platform may assist in providing interoperability between connected/linked docking accessories. One type of accessory forms an assembly with an expandable accordion attached to the docking platform.
