    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. One method may include monitoring, via one or more sensors of a first user equipment (UE), at least one of a thermal overload condition or an exposure condition associated with a first communication link between a first UE and a base station. Based on the monitoring, for example, the first UE may determine that at least one of the thermal overload condition or the exposure condition exceeds a corresponding predetermined switch threshold. Based on the determining, a second communication link may be established between the first UE and a second UE, where the second UE is configured to operate as a relay UE, for communications between the first UE and the base station via (in-part) the second communication link.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which spatial relations for one or more uplink reference signal transmissions, such as sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions, may be configured and a particular spatial relation indicated in a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE). A base station may configure a pool of available spatial relations for use in SRS transmissions, and the MAC-CE may indicate which spatial relation of the set of available spatial relations is to be used. In other cases, the MAC-CE may provide all of the spatial relation information for an associated SRS transmission. The UE, responsive to receiving the MAC-CE, may transmit a SRS to the base station using the indicated spatial relation.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for phase error estimation and correction with sub-symbol resolution. A transmitting device may precode symbols (e.g., phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) symbols) using a discrete Fourier transform (DFT). The transmitting device may map the DFT-precoded symbols to sets of adjacent subcarriers of a wireless signal, and may map other symbols to other subcarriers of the wireless signal. A receiving device may receive the wireless signal and may compare time domain representations of the DFT-precoded symbols with time domain representations of known reference symbols. The receiving device may estimate a phase error with sub-symbol resolution in the time domain based at least in part on the comparison, and may apply a phase correction in either the time or frequency domain to the other symbols.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless node (e.g., a vehicle mounted integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node) may aid in wireless communication between one or more wireless devices operating in a high-speed environment (e.g., on a high-speed train (HST)) and one or more network entities. The wireless node may transmit one or more reference signals associated with a Doppler estimation procedure to the one or more network entities. The network entities may use the one or more reference signals to generate a set of Doppler compensation parameters to use while communicating with the wireless node and the one or more wireless devices. In some examples, the wireless node may receive control information or data from the one or more wireless devices, aggregate the information, and transmit the aggregated information to the one or more network entities on behalf of the wireless devices.
