摘要: Aerosol delivery devices are provided. The aerosol delivery devices may include a power source configured to output electrical current. The aerosol delivery devices may also include an atomizer in fluid communication with a reservoir containing an aerosol precursor composition, the atomizer being configured to receive electrical current from the power source. The aerosol delivery devices may further include a dispensing mechanism including a shape-memory alloy configured to change shape in response to heat produced from electrical current provided by the power source and to selectively regulate flow of the aerosol precursor composition from the reservoir to the atomizer, the atomizer being configured to produce an aerosol therefrom.

摘要: An aerosol delivery device includes a housing and a reservoir having an open end and an opposing closed end. The reservoir includes an aerosol precursor composition therein. The aerosol delivery device also includes an electrical contact in or on the housing. The device further includes a vaporizing unit. The vaporizing unit includes a liquid transport element, a heating element, and an electrical connector. The vaporizing unit is configured to removably engage the open end of the reservoir such that the liquid transport element is in arrangement with the reservoir to transfer the aerosol precursor composition from the reservoir to the heating element and configured to engage the electrical contact in or on the housing.

The aerosol delivery devices may include multiple atomizers and an atomizer selector that provides for selection of one or more of the atomizers to which electrical current is directed. The atomizer selector may also alter a position of the atomizers relative to an airflow path through the aerosol delivery device. Another aerosol delivery device may include an atomizer and an additive selector that provides for selection of one or more additives added to vapor produced by the atomizer. Related methods are also provided.

摘要: An aerosol delivery device having a detachable power source is provided. A control body may be coupleable with a cartridge to form an aerosol delivery device. The cartridge may contain an aerosol precursor composition and be equipped with a heating element configured to activate and vaporize components of the aerosol precursor composition. The control body may comprise a housing and a power source detachably coupled to an outer surface of the housing. A control component may be contained within the housing and configured to operate in an active mode in which the control body is coupled with the cartridge. The control component in the active mode may be configured to direct power from the power source to the heating element to activate and vaporize components of the aerosol precursor composition.

摘要: Adapters for refilling an aerosol delivery device are provided. The adapters comprise a body having a container-side end and an opposing, device-side end that are sealably connectable with respectively a container of aerosol precursor composition and an aerosol delivery device having a refillable reservoir. The body defines a passageway between the ends for transfer of aerosol precursor composition from the container into the refillable reservoir. In one adapter, the container-side end is configured to engage a valve of the container during refilling of the reservoir, and thereby defines separate and distinct filling and mating ports. In another adapter, the device-side end includes a valve configured to engage the aerosol delivery device during refilling of the reservoir in which the airflow port of the aerosol delivery device is closed by the valve to prevent the aerosol precursor composition from passing through the airflow port.
