摘要: Sensing, learning, inference, and route analysis methods are described that center on the development and use of models that predict road speeds. In use, the system includes a receiver component that receives a traffic system representation, the traffic system representation includes velocities for a plurality of road segments over different contexts. A predictive component analyzes the traffic system representation and automatically assigns velocities to road segments within the traffic system representation, thereby providing more realistic velocities for different contexts where only statistics and/or posted speed limits were available before. The predictive component makes predictions about velocities for road segments at a current time or at specified times in the future by considering available velocity information as well as such information as the properties of roads, geometric relationships among roads of different types, proximal terrain and businesses, and other resources near road segments, and/or contextual information.

摘要: Various components and processes are provided to enable data processing on multiple data types where aspects of the history of user activity, attention, interest, location, or other interaction with data is determined and employed to enhance information storage and access. In one particular aspect, a data manipulation system is provided. The system includes one or more data items that are associated with one or more tags and indicate at least one user's interaction or activity with the data items. A manipulation tool that processes the data items to determine a subset of data items based at least in part on the user's interaction with the data items. Methods are described for using the manipulation tool to weight terms in an index, to compress indexes, to influence the rank of items returned in a search, to generate additional queries for data items either automatically or with user direction, or for improved presentation of data items.

摘要: The present invention relates to a system and methodology to facilitate collaboration and communications between entities such as between automated applications, parties to a communication and/or combinations thereof. The systems and methods of the present invention include a service that supports collaboration and communication by learning predictive continuous time Bayesian models that provide forecasts of one or more aspects of a users' presence and availability. Presence forecasts include a user's current or future locations at different levels of location precision and usage of different devices or applications. Availability assessments include inferences about the cost of interrupting a user in different ways and a user's current or future access to one or more communication channels. The predictive models are constructed from data collected by considering user activity and proximity from multiple devices, in addition to analysis of the content of users' calendars, the time of day, and day of week, for example. Various applications are provided that employ the presence and availability information supplied by the models in order to facilitate collaboration and communications between entities.

摘要: An information delivery system comprises a receiver component that receives information about the movement, velocity, acceleration, and/or locations over time of a user. A computation component using a predictive model generates a probability distribution relating to one or more of when the user will next be stopped, how long the user will be stopped, how long a pattern of motion, such as walking, driving in stop and go traffic, and smooth highway motion will last, based at least in part upon signals about motion over time. The system can further comprise an alerting component that determines when to provide the user with information based at least in part upon the probability distribution over some aspect of motion or cessation of motion, and optionally the content, or tagged or inferred urgency or importance, of a message or communication.

摘要: A system for optimizing the value of communications between communicating parties is provided. The system includes a communication group manager that facilitates specifying policies, preferences and/or automated analysis of ideal communication channels, routing and/or scheduling in terms of communicating party groups that can be pre-populated clusters of communicating parties, assembled based on relationships (e.g., organizational), and/or assembled based on satisfying inclusion criteria (e.g., age, location, competence, communication history, meeting history). The communication group manager maps communicating parties into predefined and/or dynamically created groups that facilitate specifying and/or automatically computing ideal communication actions like selecting a channel, displaying lists of potential channels sorted by communicating party preferences, and (re)scheduling communications to different channels and/or times. Ideal communication actions can be identified by maximizing a measure of expected communication utility, where groups provide simplifying abstractions to facilitate assessment of outcome utilities. The method can employ representations of preferences of the contactor and contactee that allow for group-specific preference considerations that weight differentially contactor and/or contactee preference considerations in communication action optimization. The system includes a group wise communication coordinator that identifies optimal group communication sets. The method facilitates a recipient communicating with a group member where the communication utility is optimized based on a preference, and a context associated with the group to which the member belongs.

摘要: The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates collecting a portion of health data from a collection of users. An interface component can receive health data communicated from a collection of users, wherein each user within the collection is associated with a respective portion of health data. A verification component can authenticate at least one of a transmission source of the portion of health data, an ownership between a portion of health data and a user, an integrity level associated with the portion of health data, or a user submitting the portion of health data. A collection component can aggregate authenticated health data into a semantic data store in which the health data is indicative of a raw and unmolested source of health information from the collection of users. The collection component can further organize the health data to facilitate identification of a medical related trend.

摘要: A social network service provides trusted, timely and managed communications between a querying individual and an informed individual by optimizing distribution of queries to reflect a requisite amount of expertise necessary (i.e., interest, background, education, demographic attribute, etc.). Those candidate recipients with a rare level of expertise or specialization can specify a desired level of participation, which is respected. In order not to exhaust their availability, those who are less qualified or part of a larger demographic category appropriate for the query are selected to handle queries of lesser difficulty or less specialization. Anonymity if desired by the recipient party can be supported by increasing the pool of candidate recipients so that the querying party cannot reasonably ascertain who is responding. Timeliness of response, as well as satisfaction in the response, is tracked in order to affect redirection of a query.

摘要: A system and method is provided to facilitate communication and collaboration by considering the timing of a user's activities on one or more clients via accessing, from a centralized server, information about the user's client-server interactions. The systems and methods can harness existing protocols and data exchange used in legacy client-server applications for email, making available to one or more client-side message routing applications, information about a user's interactions with email across multiple clients. Applications include considering the time since the last client-server interaction to guide decisions about if, when, and how to route messages so as to limit the mobile relay of information a user has already seen, providing information to colleagues about a user's current or past “inbox presence,” and forecasting the time until a user will have access to a device or communication channel.

摘要: Wish list creation and population is provided where users can associate one or more images as items in a wish list. To this end, an image can be provided, such as a photograph taken by the user, and analyzed to locate matching items and information related thereto. In this regard, the user can observe and desire to purchase an item without knowledge of specifics about the item. The user can then take a picture of the item and tag the picture for upload to their wish list. Matching can be provided to identify one or more items in the picture to facilitate retrieval of information related to the items. Also, items can be selected based on discerned characteristics of the picture in a design/fashion consultant context.
