摘要： A ball grid array socket connector (1) includes an insulative base (10), a number of conductive contacts (18) fixed to the base, a number of solder balls (30) attached to tail portions (32) of corresponding contacts and a cover (20) movably attached to the base. The base has a top surface (14), a bottom surface (16) and defines a number of cavities (12) through the top surface and the bottom surface. The cavities are arranged in a matrix. The contacts are received in corresponding cavities of the base. The base provides a number of stand-offs (28) which downwardly protrude from the bottom surface of the base and terminate at a plane (D) generally parallel with the bottom surface of the base. The solder balls each have a bottom tip (31) that downwardly extends beyond the plane D. The base defines a number of notches (26) in the bottom surface thereof. The notches are located at outer sides of the matrix of cavities.

摘要： An electrical connector of the present invention comprises a base, a cover slidably supported on the base, a ring insert molded in the cover, a cam box insert molded in the base, a cam actuator extending through the ring and the cam box, a metallic inserted plate, and a washer. The base has a plurality of passageways to retain a plurality of contacts therein. The cover has a plurality of holes to retain a plurality of pins of a PGA chip mounted thereon. The metallic inserted plate is insert molded in the base, and comprises a base portion and a pair of legs extending from the base portion. An elongated aperture is defined in the base portion for extension of the cam actuator therethrough. The aperture is located above the cam box and extends in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of the cover. In addition, a plurality of cavities are defined in the metallic inserted plate, and a plurality of corresponding bulges are formed on the base which holding the cavities and firmly fix the metallic inserted plate firmly to the base.

摘要： A card edge connector comprises an insulative housing having a mating face and a mounting face and a plurality of different kinds of conductive contacts. The housing defines an elongate slot in the mating face for receiving a mating edge of a circuit board having an unequal number of conductive pads on opposite faces of the mating edge. The housing also defines a plurality of aligned, transverse cavities on each side thereof for receiving the different kinds of conductive contacts therein. At least two kinds of different contacts are received in the transverse cavities of one side of the housing and a smaller number of contacts are received in the cavities of the opposite side of the housing.

摘要： An electrical connector includes an insulative base (8) defining a plurality of contact receiving bores (81) for each receiving a contact element (9) therein. A cover plate (5) is attached to the base to define a space therebetween for movably receiving a slide plate (7). The slide plate defines a plurality of slots (72) corresponding to the contact receiving bores of the base and each slot retains a conductive member (70) therein. The cover plate defines holes (51) therein corresponding to the slots and adapted to guide pins (4) of a chip module into the slots. The slide plate is moveable between a released position and an engaged position where the conductive member engages with both the pin and the contact element to establish electrical connection therebetween. Each contact element includes a soldering section (92) extending beyond the base and adapted to be soldered to a circuit board (3), and an engaging section (93) extending into the corresponding slot for being engaged by the conductive member. A retention section (91) fixed in the base is spaced from and connected to the soldering section by a connection section (910) thereby allowing a reduction of thickness of the connector without sacrificing the mechanical strength thereof. The connection section is resiliently deformable to accommodate a relative movement between the retention section and the soldering section caused by a difference in thermal expansion between the connector and the circuit board.

The base portion has a pair of fixing protrusions on opposite edges thereof for interferentially engaging with a housing. An interferential direction between the fixing protrusions and the housing is substantially perpendicular to a movement direction of the pin from the first portion to the second portion.

摘要： A contact used in a socket for electrically connecting with a pin of a CPU, comprises a fixing portion for being fixed in the socket, a mating portion and a connecting portion connected between the fixing portion and the mating portion. The mating portion has a receiving body which forms a receiving space adapted for entrance of the pin of the CPU to be in a first position, and has two engaging body extending from the receiving CPU for sidewardly gripping the pin of the CPU therebetween when the pin of the CPU is moved from the first position to a second position. The connecting portion is capable of deforming to effectuate a limited turning movement of the mating portion relative to the fixing portion about the connecting portion in response to a sideward displacement of the pin of the CPU from the second position.
