    摘要: A toner for developing an electrostatic image comprises toner particles containing a binder resin, a colorant and a wax. The toner contains polymerizable vinyl monomer or a mixture of organic solvent and polymerizable vinyl monomer in an amount of not more than 1,000 ppm. The toner particles are those obtained by mixing a mixture containing, at least, one or plural kinds of polymerizable vinyl monomer, a styrene-diene copolymer comprised of styrene or a styrene derivative and butadiene or isoprene in a copolymerization weight ratio of from 95:5 to 65:35, the colorant, the wax and a polymerization initiator to prepare a polymerizable monomer composition; dispersing the polymerizable monomer composition in an aqueous medium to carry out granulation; and polymerizing the polymerizable vinyl monomer in the aqueous medium.

    摘要: A color toner for developing electrostatic images is formed of color toner particles each including a binder resin, a polyalkylene, and a colorant. The color toner particles are formed by suspension polymerization. The polyalkylene is characterized by having a crystallinity of 10-50% and a melting enthalpy (as measured by a differential scanning calorimeter) of at most 35 cal/g. The color toner is characterized by an improved fixability without causing offset especially at a relatively low temperature and suitable for providing a transparency film for an overhead projection.

The invention provides a toner including at least a binder resin and a colorant, wherein: the binder resin contains a hybrid resin which contains a polyester-type resin unit by 50 mass % or more and in which a polyester-type resin component and a vinyl-type resin component are chemically bonded; the toner contains 3 to 50 mass % of a tetrahydrofuran-insoluble matter derived from the binder resin; the tetrahydrofuran-insoluble matter contains a hybrid resin; and a tetrahydrofuran-soluble matter, obtained by hydrolyzing the tetrahydrofuran-insoluble matter and separating by filtration, has, in a GPC-measured molecular weight distribution, a main peak within a molecular weight range of 50,000 to 500,000.
