    摘要: A developing device 3 has a cover member 14 for covering an upper part of a developing roller 11. A seal 16 at a front end of the cover member 14 is brought into contact with a peripheral surface of a photosensitive drum 1. When toner particles are accumulated in the vicinity of a front end of the seal 16, the toner particles adhere to the photosensitive drum1, so that an undesirable black strip appears. Therefore, a voltage in a range from a developing bias to a potential at which the photosensitive drum 1 is charged is applied to a cover plate 15 of the cover member 14. The seal 16 is at a high potential which is the same in polarity as the potential at which the photosensitive drum 1 is charged. Accordingly, no toner particles are accumulated at a front end of the seal 16, so that no black stripe appears.

    摘要: An eyeglass lens grinding machine is provided in which a bevel can be easily formed on the periphery of an eyeglass lens in such a manner that those portions of the lens which will protrude from either the front or rear surface of an eyeglass frame are appropriately adjusted in areas where the edge thickness is great in order to achieve a good aesthetic appeal after the lens has been fitted in the frame. In the improved eyeglass lens grinding machine, the frame configurational data on the eyeglass frame and the layout data to be used in providing a layout of the lens corresponding to the eyeglass frame are entered. The edge position of a processed lens is detected on the basis of the entered data. A first bevel path is determined on the basis of the result of the detection. A second bevel path is obtained by tilting the first bevel path in such a way that it passes through a desired position on the lens edge and the bevelling of the lens is controlled on the basis of the second bevel path.

    摘要: An image-forming machine comprising a rotary drum and a cleaning means which removes the toner remaining on the peripheral surface of the rotary drum. The cleaning means includes a support member that extends in the direction of center axis of the rotary drum, a blade-holding member that is mounted on the upper surface of the support member and extends in the direction of center axis of the rotary drum, and a cleaning blade that is held by the blade-holding means and extends in the direction of center axis of the rotary drum. The blade-holding member is allowed to swing on the swing axis that extends in a plane which is substantially perpendicular to the center axis of the rotary drum. An acute angle .alpha. is defined between the cleaning blade and a tangential line of the drum at a portion where the front end of the cleaning blade that is pushed comes into contact with the peripheral surface of the rotary drum, on the downstream side as viewed in a direction in which the rotary drum rotates. Restriction members are attached to the support member at both ends thereof in the direction of the center axis, the restriction members having restriction portions opposed, while maintaining a very small gap x, to the upper surface of the blade-holding member in order to restrict both ends of the blade-holding member in the direction of center axis from being displaced in a direction to separate away from the upper surface of the support member.
