摘要: A liquid crystal display device including first and second substrates, a liquid crystal layer, a plurality of gate bus lines extending in a first direction, a plurality of drain bus lines extending in a second direction, at least one auxiliary capacitance bus line extending in the first direction, a first sub picture element electrode, a second sub picture element electrode, and first and second auxiliary capacitance lower electrodes extending from the auxiliary capacitance bus line in the second direction, such that a combination of the first and second auxiliary capacitance lower electrodes and a portion of the auxiliary capacitance bus line within a picture element region form a generally cross-shaped structure. Also, a portion of the first sub picture element electrode overlaps a portion of the first auxiliary capacitance lower electrode, a portion of the second auxiliary capacitance lower electrode, and a portion of the auxiliary capacitance bus line.

摘要: The technology presented herein has a feature of providing a liquid crystal display device of an excellent viewing angle characteristic and high brightness, including: liquid crystals containing polymerizable monomers between a first substrate with a pixel electrode having micro slits and a second substrate facing the first substrate; wherein the monomers are polymerizable with voltage applied to the liquid crystals; and an alignment orientation of the liquid crystals is controllable to a direction of extending the micro slit, wherein the pixel electrode includes: a direct coupling part electrically connected to a switching element; a capacitive coupling part electrically insulated from the switching element, and a space between the direct and capacitive coupling parts, wherein directions in which the micro slits are extended along the direct and capacitive coupling parts are orthogonal to each other.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device according to the present invention is constituted of a TFT substrate and an opposing substrate which are arranged so as to be opposite to each other with a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween. In addition, in the liquid crystal layer, formed is a polymer into which a polymer component added to liquid crystal is polymerized, and which determines directions in which liquid crystal molecules tilt when voltage is applied. In the TFT substrate, formed are a sub picture element electrode directly connected to a TFT and a sub picture element electrode connected to the TFT through capacitive coupling. In each of these sub picture element electrodes, formed are slits extending in directions respectively at angles of 45 degrees, 135 degrees, 225 degrees and 315 degrees to the X axis.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device including first and second substrates; liquid crystal contained between the substrates; a polymer which determines directions in which liquid crystal molecules tilt; a plurality of gate and data bus lines; and a plurality of picture elements. At least one of the picture elements includes a switching element, and first and second sub picture element electrodes. The first sub picture element electrode connects to the switching element and the second sub picture element electrode connects, via capacitive coupling, to the switching element. The first substrate further includes a control electrode that is connected to the switching element and the first sub picture element electrode. The control electrode is capacitively coupled to the second sub picture element electrode through an insulating film. The area of the second sub picture element electrode is larger than the area of the first sub picture element electrode.

摘要: The invention has an object to provide a liquid crystal display device of an excellent viewing angle characteristic and high brightness, including: sandwiching liquid crystals containing polymerizable monomers between a first substrate with a pixel electrode having a micro slit and a second substrate facing the first substrate; polymerizing the monomers with voltage applied to the liquid crystals; and controlling an alignment orientation of the liquid crystals to a direction of extending the micro slit, wherein the pixel electrode includes: a direct coupling part electrically connected to a switching element; a capacitive coupling part electrically insulated from the switching element, and forming capacitance with a control capacitance electrode having a same potential as that of a source electrode of the switching element; and a space between the direct and capacitive coupling parts, wherein directions of extending the micro slit in the adjacent direct and capacitive coupling parts are orthogonal to each other.

摘要: The present invention provides an active matrix substrate that enables to suppress variation in the pixel potential even if an alignment shift is present. The active matrix substrate of the present invention includes a plurality of pixel electrodes arranged in a matrix; and a source wiring running in a column direction, wherein the source wiring has a first side portion running along one side in a column direction of at least one pixel electrode of the plurality of pixel electrodes, a crossing portion running across the pixel electrode, and a second side portion running along another side in the column direction of the pixel electrode, the first side portion and the second side portion are connected to each other via the crossing portion, and at least one crossing portion is provided on each of at least two pixel electrodes aligned in the column direction out of the plurality of pixel electrodes.

摘要: When radiating light onto a liquid crystal composition containing a photosensitive material, the alignment of liquid crystal molecules is adjusted by applying a voltage to the liquid crystal composition layer, to achieve substantially orderly alignment of the liquid crystal molecules, or the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules is made uniform by adjusting the structure of the liquid crystal display device, or any display defect is driven out of the display area. When radiating light to the liquid crystal composition containing the photosensitive material, the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules can be adjusted so as to achieve substantially orderly alignment of the liquid crystal molecules, and the liquid crystal display device can thus be driven stably.
