摘要: A radio-controlled timepiece that receives a standard time signal containing a time code and adjusts the time based on the received standard time signal includes: a reception unit that receives the standard time signal; an analog/digital conversion unit that digitizes the received standard time signal based on a prescribed threshold value; a time counter that keeps time; a time code generator that generates a reference time code based on the time counted by the time counter; a duty evaluation unit that calculates the pulse duty cycle of the digital signal output from the A/D conversion unit, and determines if the received pulse duty cycle that is calculated matches the duty cycle of the reference time code generated by the time code generator; a level changing unit that changes the relative level of the threshold value to the reception signal if the duty evaluation unit determines that the received pulse duty cycle does not match the duty cycle of the reference time code; and a time code decoder that decodes the digital signal and demodulates the time code if the duty evaluation unit determines that the received pulse duty cycle matches the duty cycle of the reference time code.

摘要: An electronic timepiece with wireless information function that is small, has good reception performance, and has a construction that improves the freedom of design. Antennae 5A and 5B are disposed inside a short cylindrically-shaped metal case 1 of which both ends along its cylindrical axis L1 are open with the axes L5A and L5B of the antennae 5A and 5B substantially parallel to the cylindrical axis L1 of the case 1. A magnetic-field-passing part capable of passing the magnetic field of radio waves is disposed in an open side of the case 1 along an extension of the antenna axis. Radio waves entering from the open side of the case 1 can therefore be received by the antenna, and the material of the case 1 does not affect the reception performance of the antennae 5A and 5B. The case 1 can therefore be made from metal, increasing the freedom of design and making it possible to improve the appearance.

摘要: When a frequency measurement unit measures the frequency of a temperature-sensing oscillation test signal and the frequency of a driving-pulse signal transmitted from an electronic apparatus via an coil electromagnetically coupled with a motor coil, a temperature-compensation data generation unit creates temperature-compensation data based on the frequency of the temperature-sensing oscillation test signal and the frequency of the driving-pulse signal. This temperature-compensation data is transmitted to an analog electronic timepiece via the coil. That is, a state of the analog electronic timepiece is measured in a non-contact manner and the temperature-compensation data obtained based on the measurement result is transmitted, whereby the analog electronic timepiece is adjusted in a state of being incorporated in an external casing.

摘要: An antenna device for a high frequency radio apparatus is equipped with an antenna element which is placed on a circuit board whose peripheral shape has a curve. The antenna element also follows the peripheral shape of the circuit board to have a curved part when viewed from above. The antenna device also has a ground pattern where the antenna element touches. The ground pattern can be placed at a constant distance from the antenna element toward the board. Furthermore, the ground pattern can be formed on almost the entire area of the circuit board other than where the antenna element is formed. Also, the circuit board may be a multilayer circuit board, and the ground pattern can be formed almost on the entire area of any one layer of the multilayer circuit board other than where the antenna element is formed.

摘要: A first control unit 110 and second control unit 120 are disposed to a portable data terminal 100 having a heavy load group 140 and light load group 150. The first control unit 110 detects the output voltage of a secondary battery 105 and controls power supply to the heavy load group 140 by switching a first switch S1. When the first control unit 110 stops power supply to the heavy load group 140, it outputs a low level control signal CC to the second control unit 120. The load of driving the second control unit 120 is designed to be smaller than the load of driving the first control unit 110. When the control signal CC is received, the second control unit 120 starts detecting the output voltage of the secondary battery 105, and stops power supply to the switch light load group 150 and first control unit 110 if the output voltage is detected to drop to a preset threshold voltage.

摘要: When an electronic timepiece is in a power-saving mode in which the current time display is suspended, it is determined whether or not the charge voltage supplied from a high-capacity capacitor is higher than a predetermined reference voltage, and if higher, enough electrical energy is stored in the high-capacity capacitor to return from the power-saving mode to the display mode, so that a current time restoration process is performed upon detecting power generation. On the other hand, if the charge voltage is less than or equal to the predetermined reference voltage, the supply of the power supply voltage to the control circuits is stopped to prevent the electrical energy stored in the high-capacity capacitor from being consumed needlessly. As a result, the electronic timepiece can be reactivated quickly when the power generating device begins to generate power.
