    Abstract: A waste water strainer has a horizontal flange having a center opening. A hollow barrel is secured to and extends downwardly from the flange and has a center opening concentrically located with respect to the center opening in the flange. A hollow strainer extension is threadably secured to a lower end of the barrel. A bushing with an internal concave surface is mounted within the upper end of the strainer extension. A circular disk valve having an annular outer surface symmetrical with the concave surface of the bushing is pivotally mounted on the concave surface of the bushing. The flange and the barrel have a chrome-like finished surface, and the strainer extension has a different finish surface.

    Abstract: A waste water valve for use in the bottom of a bathtub or the like has a drain insert extending through an opening in the bottom end of the receptacle. A support member extends across the lower end of the drain inset and the vertical post is secured thereto and extends outwardly therefrom. The post has a flat planar surface thereon which intersects with an annular groove adjacent the top of the post. A closure member with a central bore is rotatably mounted on the post and is rotatable with the post when lifted to a position within the annular groove. A washer is secured within the center bore of the closure member and has a circular center bore with a flat segment adjacent thereto to permit the closure member to dwell within the annular groove when the flat segment is out of alignment with the planar surface of the post, but which will permit the closure member to slidably turn relative to the post when the flat surface is in alignment with the planar surface.

    Abstract: A waste water insert has a cylindrical wall surrounding a vertical cylindrical bore. A horizontal flange extends outwardly from the upper end of the wall and has a lip formed on its outer periphery. The horizontal flange of the waste water insert is super-imposed over the horizontal flange of a conventional waste water strainer located in a bathtub, sink or the like. The lip at the outer perimeter of the flange of the insert fits over the outer periphery of the horizontal flange of the waste water strainer to center the insert on the strainer. The cylindrical wall of the insert extends downwardly through the conventional cylindrical wall of the waste water strainer with the two walls being spaced from each other by virtue of the cylindrical wall of the insert having a smaller diameter than that of the strainer. The conventional cylindrical wall of the strainer extends below the cylindrical wall of the insert, and has a lower circular edge. One or more spring clip elements having upturned ends are suspended from the cylindrical wall of the insert, with the upturned ends abutting the lower circular edge of the conventional strainer cylindrical wall.
