A pair of lifting arms co-operate with the frame of the hand truck to extend outwardly therefrom and allow the frame of the hand truck to provide a mechanical advantage for lifting. The wheels of the truck are moveable rearwardly for conversion to a wheelbarrow mode. An open top container is positioned within the frame of the hand truck for receiving material. The multi-function hand truck is efficiently stored in a vertical orientation.

In a ramp configuration the wheel support frames extend upwardly from the main frame and support respective front and back ends of ramp frames, which are removably mounted on the main frame. In a cart configuration the wheel support frames depend downwardly from the main frame and a pair of legs are mounted on the main frame to support same. In a cart configuration of the device, the main frame also mounts a trailer hitch frame. In another aspect of the invention, a hitch-mounted ramp device includes a hitch frame adapted for mounting on a vehicle and a pair of ramps adapted for mounting on the hitch frame.

The leg extender assembly is also embodied in a two portion apparatus with an upper portion including a hole that allows for securing the leg extender assembly to a leg of the service cart. One such leg extender is connected to each leg of the service cart to be elevated. These leg extenders dispose the support surfaces of the service cart at higher elevations above the ground than conventional service carts.

The device includes a first framework having a first and a second end and a second framework having a first and a second extremity. The first extremity of the second framework is pivotally secured to the first end of the first framework about a first pivotal axis. A loading platform is provided for supporting a load. The platform has a first and a second edge. The platform is pivotally secured to the second end of the first framework about a second pivotal axis, the second axis being disposed between the first and the second edges of the platform. A tie bar has a first and second termination with the first termination being pivotally secured to the second edge of the platform about a third pivotal axis. The second termination of the platform is pivotally secured to the second framework about a fourth pivotal axis. The fourth pivotal axis is disposed between the first and the second extremities of the second framework. A wheel is rotatably secured to the platform. The arrangement is such that in a first mode of operating the device, when the first and second frameworks are pivoted away from each other, the frameworks constitute a pair of ladders. However, in a second mode of operating the device, when the first and second frameworks are pivoted towards each other, the wheel permits transportation of the device together with the load supported on the platform.
